5-5 with 2 games left

As bad as we have been this season it’s pretty remarkable that we are here competing for a bowl at this point in the season

I'm starting to think that we can actually beat a limping Boise team at this stage.

Both are winnable games but with 1 game for eligibility and UNM on the schedule I like our chances to pick up at least 1 of the 2

They're 85 in TFL, 75 in sacks, and 78 in third down defense. They shouldn't abuse us that much more than any of these other teams have.

Considering how many new players that have been playing this year it truly is a miracle at this point to be 5-5. To get bowl eligible this year would be huge.

Both are very winnable games. Boise is not a great team. We came close through 59 minutes last year, I think it happens next week.

We are like 2-30 all time against Boise. All of our losses are basically blow outs. I would love a win but unless they (I can't express myself without swearing) the bed it won’t happen.

I guess I need to make a trip to Logan next week. Both times I have seen Boise play USU in person, USU won (1997 and 2015). So I must be USUs good luck charm against the donks.

EDIT- Upon further review, USU has never lost to Boise when I have been present in Logan, even when the Aggies have played in Boise. If I am physically present in Logan and USU plays Boise, then USU wins. The years I was in Logan and USU played Boise were 1996, 1997, and 2015, and USU beat Boise those times. I had taken the fall of 1995 off from USU and I was in Florida when USU had played Boise, and USU lost that game. I have never been in Logan when Boise has beaten USU.

You had better get used to high turnover and many new players every year at USU. That will be our new norm. Pray for another miracle next year.

I actually think that this new reality is not sustainable in the long run. It is going to not work out for guys more often than it does work out, and once a few high profile guys announce that they are not interested in transferring, it will catch on.

I’ve never seen USU beat boise. We’ve only done it twice during my lifetime. The first time would have been when I was less than one, and the second time was when I was on my mission. Let’s make it happen next week!

Agreed, we will always see some turnover but i just hope that we don't see the mass exodus on defense like we did last year, that really hurt.

I’m already chalking this up as a loss. I’m not sure what’s going on with Boise but not sure Avalos was liked by players and coaches.

Whoever coaches in his absence will have them ready to go.

For some reason I really feel that Boise is a must win for us. Anything can happen and losing 2 games in a row is a real possibility. It would feel better going into bowl season on a streak at 7-5. Momentum into a bowl game would be huge.

Yeah it is a very winnable game. If they weren't wearing the Boise State jerseys, most fans would expect a win. They are 5-5 and haven't played well on the road and don't have their coach.

If eight MWC teams are bowl eligible, it would not be a surprise to see a 6-6 team get left out.

All depends on how many eligible teams there are nationally.

There are currently 58 bowl eligible teams. There are 82 spots for teams. There are 20 that are 5-5 and 14 that are 4-6. I would be very surprised if any 6-6 teams get left out.
