I say we let players coming to USU (or returning to USU) announce their own stuff, but if they're leaving us all niceties are off.

I really hope this is just a joke about Zeke Payne, but I’m guessing that it isn’t.

I don't like the sound of that. Just tell whoever it is to change their mind and stay.

It’s probably Ike or Switz.
Frankly I’m not shocked if it’s Switz because he’s been tweeting about how great UCF is since the failure of DC we had got fired

I doubt it would be either of them at this point seeing as how those two have consistently been the run it back leaders. But what do I know?Bullnamed_gus wrote: ↑April 16th, 2024, 3:19 pmIt’s probably Ike or Switz.

Switz has been fairly vocal about his displeasure with the School, Athletic Department, and the firing of the Failure we had at DCbigblue32 wrote: ↑April 16th, 2024, 3:24 pmI doubt it would be either of them at this point seeing as how those two have consistently been the run it back leaders. If Switz leaves because he didn't like that we fired Cauthen, then so be it.

I see what you’re saying but counterpoint , He’s always been vocal about issues. When we had mass portal exodus a year ago, and he stayed , he wasn’t quiet about how behind we were on nil and what not, critical doesn’t necessarily mean leaving.Bullnamed_gus wrote: ↑April 16th, 2024, 3:26 pmSwitz has been fairly vocal about his displeasure with the School, Athletic Department, and the firing of the Failure we had at DCbigblue32 wrote: ↑April 16th, 2024, 3:24 pmI doubt it would be either of them at this point seeing as how those two have consistently been the run it back leaders. Agreed. One player in football is well worth it to get rid of a dumpster fire of a coach.GameFAQSAggie wrote: ↑April 16th, 2024, 3:29 pmIt's worth losing even him if that was the price we had to pay to get rid of Cauthen.3rdGenAggie wrote: ↑April 16th, 2024, 3:28 pmIf Switz leaves because he didn't like that we fired Cauthen, then so be it.

The problem is that sometimes his source may be someone OTHER than the player that is leaving.3rdGenAggie wrote: ↑April 16th, 2024, 3:07 pmI say we let players coming to USU (or returning to USU) announce their own stuff, but if they're leaving us all niceties are off.

Re: Transfer Portal Palooza (Spring ball edition)
Could Legas possibly be the rumored transfer? Sounds like BA prefers Petras slightly and he’s only got one more year to see the field. Might not wanna waste it on the bench

If Legas hits the portal, I would feel bad, but I could not really blame him much.
This is the world of the portal.

Re: Transfer Portal Palooza (Spring ball edition)
I really hope our collective is starting to look into contracts. No sense throwing NIL money at these players if they are gonna just up and walk away in the spring. I get it after a season, but dont accept NIL if you arent planning on playing for us.

22, Fitzgerald just entered his name into the portal. Is that the DE you are referencing here? Or was that the surprise one?aggies22 wrote:Expect to see a defensive end, a defensive tackle, and a cornerback in the next week.

Really tough loss. Looked really promising as a freshman. The surprise transfer could’ve been worse tho tbhaggies22 wrote:Paul was the surprise. Re: Transfer Portal Palooza (Spring ball edition)
I agree and most thoughts turn immediately to Ike, Jalen, Devon, Coop, etc. BUT the kid led the team in sacks as an 18-year-old redshirt freshman. He had the opportunity to be a four-year starter.bmo12 wrote: ↑April 16th, 2024, 4:41 pmReally tough loss. Looked really promising as a freshman. Fitzgerald had good moments, but he was done as a starter as soon as we got a new DC because he lacked consistent good plays.

Plain and simple, Fitzgerald isn't the devastation that a few other guys would be, but we would be better off holding onto him than we are losing him.

Re: Transfer Portal Palooza (Spring ball edition)
any hint at reason for Paul leaving at this point? my guess is someone recruited him ($$$). He was a big get for us after the Coogs and Donks sort of let him go to us. I would have to think these two are the leaders for his services now.

He has good speed and moves well, and he has splash moments. The struggle is he gets overpowered in game time (part of our struggles at run D).aggies22 wrote: ↑April 16th, 2024, 5:22 pmI've sat through every second of spring ball that I have been outdoors. Hope we don't give him any spring film to advertise his talents. He probably won't need, already has a landing spot

I am not surprised that he is an all-star in practice.
