Portal closing only means that no one else can enter after that time period. Those in the portal technically don't have a deadline to make a commitment.

I hope he finds a landing spot where he can play. I know nothing about the Lobos roster, but he seems like a Roscoe Mendenhall type QB.

Re: Legas…gone
If we have learned 1 thing as fans of College Football, it is that the Transfer Portal can giveth, and the Transfer Portal can take away. In my view, as a G5 MWC program, the odds of picking up a player that gives us a net gain are quite good and we should explore it.
Whether it is a former P5 player looking for PT, a G5 player looking for a different situation, or a P5 or G5 grad transfer just prospecting, it is always going to be worth spending some coaching time/resources and a handful of schollies on Transfer Portal talent.
In the world of open transfers, the need is going to be there.

Yeah, I get that; my point is he's been in for a while now; you'd think we'd have heard something by now? If I were a betting man I'd guess he ends up at UNM.aggies22 wrote: ↑May 1st, 2024, 11:53 am100% correct my Aggie brother.ratofallaggies wrote: ↑May 1st, 2024, 9:28 amPortal closing only means that no one else can enter after that time period. I certainly don't want to end up playing against him. Mostly because I don't want to root against him. I want to remember him as the true blooded Aggie that stepped up in a bowl game on a national stage when we needed him and then did whatever was asked of him every year after that.

Does he have strong feelings one way or the other about wanting to go to or avoid a school on our 2024 schedule?

Do you know if he’s considering Northwestern? He would be the starter from day 1. Not to mention that he could attend one of the best business schools in the country.

From an academic and life in general standpoint. If he has an offer to get an MBA from Kellogg for free and maybe get some NIL money on the side, he would be really dumb to not take it, regardless of the football situation.

Re: Legas…gone
By going to Northwestern, he would get to play in at least Wrigley Field sometimes, as well as possibly Guaranteed Rate Field(which is where the White Sox play) joining a short list(if anyone is even on it now) of college quarterbacks to throw a touchdown at both the site of a past Super Bowl and the site of a past World Series.
Maybe those that know him would know if he ever as kid dreamed of getting to play in Wrigley Field.

Re: Legas…gone
One thing that's funny is that we have heard things about Blake that we would experience and have arguably experienced alot of them, and yet after how we feel about Blake mishandling Cooper, one of Cooper's first goals is to make the Arkansas State fans forget about all the bad things they were frustrated about with Blake and shift their frustrations to Butch Jones. In simpler terms, Tulsa's second game is Arkansas State.

Sorry, this has probably been mentioned ten times elsewhere, but does he have one or two years remaining?
TU is a mid-tier AAC program and has had so-so QB play for years. Hope Coop can take the job early. He’ll learn soon that Chapman Stadium doesn’t have the atmosphere of the Mav. An average Hurd crowd is bigger than the entire TU student body; the average TU student section is about the size of the halftime men’s room line at an Aggie game. You want energy, you have to bring it yourself.

If I hear TU chatter at church this Sunday, it will be the first time in my 27 years here.
