Re: Legas…gone
Look I am not advocating that Blake has managed the quarterback room well especially last year but there have been multiple reports from posters that have went to spring practices that said that Spencer was performing as good if not better than Cooper was. It sounds like there was pretty much equal reps during spring ball but Spencer was making more of those reps. It sucks Cooper left I wish you would have stayed.blueaggie wrote: ↑April 17th, 2024, 11:06 pmYou really think BA is going to give him a fair shot?Aggie84025 wrote: ↑April 17th, 2024, 10:39 pmThen go out in spring ball and beat out Petras. Re: Legas…gone
Blake "coached Coop hard" and sitting in the stands right behind the team all last season, it was obvious that he got ripped into much more often than any other QBs. Granted, this is only observation from the stands and I never heard what Blake was screaming at Coop about, but I was more shocked that Coop wanted to stay another year than I was when I heard he was entering the portal.

I have no problem creating competition and Cooper was not, and is not afraid of that. Bringing in two grad transfers sent a strong message that nobody in our system was with a damn in the coach’s eyes and you could see this wasn’t going to work out from a mile away. I have so many issues with the way BA has managed the QBs during his time here is not even funny. That being said, he’d better win this year or his seat is going to get white hot.

The message for some is:
Anderson is doing a scrappy job I want him gone.
In next breath, how dare he bring in players that will make our team better.

These are mutually exclusive things though.
Maybe it won't make the team better? By chasing away Hillstead and Legas, he might have made the team worse.
I don't understand why you take it personally when someone criticizes a coach. And no, I don't want Blake fired. I like Blake. I do not like the results the last couple seasons. I do not like getting our asses kicked by Weber State and Georgia State.

I did like Legas, which he would have stayed.
But to me it says something when I hear a challenger is doing well and suddenly the other two QBs leave. In that situation if you think you can win you stay, if you don't you leave.

And that's 100% natural. Petras is an unknown to Aggie fans when it comes to seeing him in action on a Saturday night and that makes fans wonder what the hell is going on.

Coach Anderson says: We have only two experienced QBs, both of whom have been frequently injured, one of whom could use a redshirt to recover from concussions and prepare to be The Man for the next three years. Fortunately we have two experienced grad transfers to both push the incumbents to be better and be available if their injury problems surface yet again.dyedblue wrote: ↑April 18th, 2024, 6:37 amCome on now. Re: Legas…gone
The point is, Blake is a mediocre coach who needs to get himself out of the QB room and get a real QB coach. He essentially replaced two guys who are injury prone with two guys who are bad, one of whom has been dubbed “the worst starting quarterback in the FBS.” And that was before he took a year off…OKAggie wrote: ↑April 18th, 2024, 9:31 amFacts, neither of which is remotely connected to this conversation. Re: Legas…gone
Hillstead leaving is perplexing. He could really use a redshirt year. He had some moments last year but was off once he was rocked and then injured his foot. A year in the system as a backup would have done him wonders. He would be in such a good spot come next spring by being patient.OKAggie wrote: ↑April 18th, 2024, 9:21 amCoach Anderson says: We have only two experienced QBs, both of whom have been frequently injured, one of whom could use a redshirt to recover from concussions and prepare to be The Man for the next three years.

If we are going to bring up Weber every second (bad loss). Let's bring up the good.

Re: Legas…gone
This is going to prove a mistake on Legas's part. He's not the type of QB that is going to jump into a new system this late and thrive. I will predict that with an inmobile starter with a history of shoulder problems with the systemic and talent problems with pass protection that the backup QB is going to be very active this year.newhouse9 wrote: ↑April 18th, 2024, 10:20 amFed by a system that encourages bailing at the first sign of serious adversity. 100% unless he drops a level, I would imagine Legas would get more time with USU even if he is #2 to start the year.hickaggie wrote: ↑April 18th, 2024, 2:19 pmThis is going to prove a mistake on Legas's part. With at least 2 of the top 5 worst losses I’ve ever seen.
