Me too...

But what I don't get if why they do that (and I know this is just Joe, but the committe does it too), why do they put mid major against mid major? I know, should be a pretty obvious answer, same reason they made TCU and Boise play. It's just lame that they do that, sure seems like it's on purpose.

I hope we don't play Missouri. They press the entire game.

I've been saying this for weeks. Which means we'll likely play Missouri

Does the selection committee look at where games are being played and how well teams will travel to those locations? If we were in the West bracket playing in Denver, I would be there, as I'm sure most of you and alot of students would be as well. If we win the WAC tournament, is there any valid argument against giving us a 7 seed in Denver?

We're ready for the press. Plus they can't win outside of their home court. But I really hope we're a 7 seed or better.

The selection committee only favors top-5 seeds as far as location goes. As a 7-8-9-10, we fall where we fall.

Than 7 seed in Denver would be perfect. We'd take out the Zags in the first round and then get the Zoobs in the second round. That would be ideal...we'd lay the smack down on them this time around...No Daives and we have Bendall back and Pooh at 100%, we win that one. I'd like our chances against either Syracuse or K-State too for a ticket to the elite 8.

What is the matter with that? Best 68 teams, and if mid majors fit the bill, it shouldn't matter if they play in the first round or not. I don't see the similarity like football. The BCS did it as a point to make the undefeated mid majors not get a shot against the big boys.

In college basketball, they wouldn't want mid majors to play each other if they had an agenda against them because that means it is guaranteed that a mid major will advance.

True but fact that we played BYU and Georgetown and they are both going to be a seed 5 and higher than it limits what and where will can go.

We would be favored by about 5 points on a neutral court over Old Dominion.

don't know who this guy is at Foxsports, but he has us listed as a 12 seed against Kentucky.

Has to be the worst seed I've seen for the aggies this year.

They try to avoid rematches in the first two rounds, but that isn't a hard rule. It is particularly likely to be ignored in BYU's case, since they don't play on Sundays.

Otherwise I think the rule is that the top 5 seeds are supposed to be protected against having a home-field disadvantage in the first two rounds. I doubt it would apply to USU, though, since playing an East Coast school in Denver would be a very minor home-field advantage at best. It would only be an issue if there were games in ESA or something like that. I have heard that they will sometimes move a team up or down a seed line depending on whether they play close to home or far from home, but I'm not sure if that's true.

I HATE Jordan Schwartz, but are we just looking through our blue-colored goggles to buy into Lunardi's prediction of an 8 seed? http://msn.foxsports.com/collegebasketb ... tions-2011

Believe me, it pains me to say it, but I think we are realistically looking at an 11 seed or 12 seed.

As I have said before, nobody really knows where we are going to be seeded. Lunardi is basing his 8 seed on the fact that the committee usually puts teams in the 8/9 game that it has no idea what to do with. But we could very easily end up seeded higher or lower. There is absolutely nothing that anyone can do about that, so I'm not losing any sleep over it.

Schwartz seems to be an outlier -- most of these guys have us in 8-9 brackets.

And of course, Lunardi: http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/bracketology

The bigger question is: if USU gets assigned to the Tulsa pod (as several have predicted, to potentially face Kansas in the third round -- KU will almost certainly be a #1 seed, and Tulsa is the closest subregional to Lawrence), can we expect to see AgMac here?

If USU lands in Tulsa, I will do the funky chicken dance all of the way to the BOK Center. With AgMac?

Nothing would make me happier than sitting with GoldenHurricAGG and OKAggie in Tulsa cheering on our beloved Aggies (a close second would be witnessing GHA's funky chicken dance, which, as I understand, is quite funky). Nothing would make me more fearful than returning to Mrs. AgMac after a long weekend by herself with the little AgMacs.

im watching the Old Dominion-VCU game and Old D seems to like to do two things. 1-play alot of 2-3 trying to force turn overs by trapping down low and 2- run alot of set plays against man to man to get a look at 3. i havent watched much of this game so im not sure if thats a regular defensive tactic but the commentator even said they always look for 3.

do you think we match up good agianst those two game plans?
