I Love it..Mathew Dellavadova last second shot

Post by sven » January 16th, 2013, 11:18 pm

Dellavadova of St. Mary's received the ball on the sideline from a fellow player with 2.5 seconds left, he went past halfcourt with defender being left to his side and shot about a 30 footer on the run with one hand and St. Mary's beats BYU again in Provo 70-69...
You should have seen the Student section and the paid fans of BYU faces. They were Stunned! I love moments like this when a player does it to the Zoobs! Greg Grant did it 4 times in Provo. 2 times last second in provo and 2 times last few seconds in Logan.
Greg Loathed the Cougars like I do His Cousin, with the same last name! Greg was 8-0 against BYU.

Did anyone see on the ESPNU when Dellavadova made the shot, he ran down the opposite sideline of the Marriott excited, jumping and hands shaking, in the background you see a BYU fan giving Dellavadova the bird! Nice one Zoobie! On National TV.
Tell me again why we keep accepting this crap that BYU and its students are a cut above the rest? I think we should start calling them and sending pictures of stuff like this to the Church leadership! Course you and I know what would happen there. Now, Brethren and Sisters "Boys will be Boy's, let's just all get along"!

Like Dellavadova or not, That Aussie is one tough SOB! And he is a winner!

The game should be on ESPN3 later. Someone will have a picture of the bird if it happened.

Seconded... someone's got to make this happen as it would be some justice for all those years of BYU fans using that Aggie fan that flipped BYU the double in various gifs, youtube clips, etc.

It is going to be hard to pick it up unless there is some slow motion put to it. You see Dellavadova run by, then right directly behind him you see a front row fan standing on the court with his right hand raised gesturing to Dellavadova. You see the middle finger for a split second and then the bird and this guys hand goes cloudy out of focus type thing! But as I saw it in real time it sure looked like the bird, but who knows, I could be mistaken and just assuming?

I loved seeing that, but my joy was tempered by being reminded of a similar shot by Jimmy DeGraffenreid

Wow, forgot all about that half-court heave at the buzzer to win it for Weber. '93, was it?

It's not on YouTube so it must have never happened.

I just watched the ESPN3 replay several times and saw no bird. Incredible shot though.

I was pretty sure it was the bird on the live feed but on the replay, I was not quite as sure. Maybe 75% sure.

Upon further review, definitely the birdie flew.

BYU - Putting the @ss in class since... well, since they were founded (don't care enough to look it up).

It's definitely there. At first, I thought it was the guy in a blue sweater, but it looked as though he simply had his hand to his face in disbelief. But then I looked again and I noticed some kid in a t-shirt, in the background, looking directly at Delly and giving him the bird.

I can't find it, and that link is a mobile link and doesn't work on a computer. Watching this link and it shows the shot at the end of the highlight and I looked but couldn't find it. can you point out to me when and where it is?

It shows it pretty good on the KSL replay. Right at the 1:11 mark of their video. The guy is in a blue shirt, just above and to the right of James Walker's shoulder. He steps out from behind a guy in green.

:wtf:

Who's first reaction is to flip the guy off? Weird.

I don't think he's flipping him off. If you watch the video, you'll see that it looks like his palm is down. What appears to be his middle finger only shows up in one frame because it looks like it is actually something in the background that happened to line up with his hand.

If you catch him on the side camera (just look to the left of the kid filming with his cell phone about 3 feet above his head, it looks like he is pointing, I agree with you.
