Reyes and Wright to Transfer from U

Post by cval » March 30th, 2016, 1:59 pm

The Trib and Desnews are reporting that Reyes and Wright have notified the U of their intent to transfer.

Kinda makes you wonder who informed who? Says Wright has been granted a release. Didn't mention that about Reyes, but said he will graduate.

If Wright is graduating and immediately eligible, he definitely wouldn't hurt our rebounding.

Wright is 6-2?

I think you meant Reyes who is 6-7. We were a finalist when he chose Utah originally. I wonder if we will be in the mix.

The craziest thing about this story is that Kyle Goon actually reported something first.

I would love to have the type of coverage Goon provides. Looking back he wasnt that bad, not as good as Tony but there are far worse out there.

I don't think Reyes is a star by any means but he's a true post who just wants to go somewhere to get playing time. I would take him in a second. I can't imagine any JC big man we bring in at this point would be better than him. He spent more and more time on the bench as this season went on but he was a starter for them in the '14-'15 season when they made the sweet 16.

He has one year to play and is immediately eligible.

Reyes seems like a solid Brennan Ray-type player who will hustle, get rebounds, take charges, mix things up, and generally raise the intensity level and do all the dirty work. But with more size than B-Ray had. I think he'd be a great one-year player and the good news is that since he is graduating he could play next year.

I'm a reasonable man, get off my case.

Yeah, I meant Reyes. I remember we were recruiting him hard a couple years back. He would be nice to have next year.

I think he's gotten a lot better since that time too.

I think Reyes would be a great contributor.

Also, Kyle Goon is a good reporter and beat writer. As has been mentioned here, not as good as Tony but still very good.

Agreed. Would be a good filler for one year while the newbies get experience.
