Hope we move on, but if he stays next year needs to be a special season.

Imagine if he had the coaching skill to stop our scoring droughts. The kids have not quit, are into the game on the bench, play hard and when shots fall are pretty good. It’s just those times he can’t coach the team through 5-7 minutes periods of terrible ball in most every game.

I have lost complete interest in Aggie basketball regardless of win or lose with Duryea as the coach. Even when they win they aren't fun to watch. The few times I've turned them on they look like a more athletic but less physical and tough church ball team. Just jack em up. go one on one, and soft inside play and rebounding. Hell you got 6-8/6-9 guys thinking they should be jacking up 3s rather than getting nasty in the post, setting screens and rebounding and guys just chucking it from 5 feet behind the line and a guy in their face.

Why did the AD hire Stew's assistant if he wasn't gonna play Stew ball which is the way basketball was meant to be played. The whole coaching search should have been for a similar philosophy of slow it down, the cards, the sets, play for the best shot, take only high percentage 3s, and put post play and back to basket development above all.

I guess this is just the new basketball and its passed me by. Maybe it all ended with the stupid hand check fouls and the Golden State trend and its not Duryea's fault. They can win the Mountain West Tourney and go to the sweet sixteen for all I care. Its just not basketball that is fun to watch.

Duryea's job is SAFE... as long as he keeps on winning! He had better in the MWC tourney, he's got to pull a UC Irvine to do it. Lets see...

It is time for change....

I know Duryea was left with a fairly bad situation when he took over the team, but nothing he has done since taking over has shown he is the man to bring us back to where we were. Most of us are starting to discuss/understand why Collette left for greener pastors.

We once had quite literally one of the best college basketball atmospheres in the nation. now you go to a game and its like going to a mediocre JC game with only family members in the stands. (maybe not that bad, but close!)

I have zero faith after this season that Duryea is the man to to bring us back to that level, and think now is the time for a fresh start, but I understand the financial side of things can be a huge road block for us.... :bangwall:

I'm pretty confident that Duryea saved his job with yesterday's win. If he wins today I'm 100% certain that he'll be back next year.

At the first of the year, I don’t remember anyone predicting much better than a .500 season.
