Some real positives about usu & how we are better than BYU this year in both sports and having a better season. Then went on to say they get asked all the time by people and why they talk about BYU ok radio when they have a crappy football season or basketball season and he said because they move the Needle with their fan base even when they suck.
Then went on to say even when Utah State has a great season in SportsLike this year in football and basketball their fans still don’t even show up to cheer for them or listen on the radio to see what’s going on. So today would be a great day to get on Twitter and let him know that Usu fans listen and give a crap. It sure gets old hearing this crap, because we do not get much love on. 1280 The Zone Radio
I’d love to see parks get lit up on Twitter

Maybe if the station was able to be picked up in Cache Valley clearly, more responses would be made on the air.
I’m sure not many Utes or Cougars call on the long cal sports programs,

Goes both ways. They never talk about us so why would an Aggie fan ever listen to their shows. Can’t really just expect people who have been ignored for years to just suddenly jump on and start listening.

Re: Parks on 1280 just said
I totally agree with this.
I have tried to bite my tongue, but the 1280 thing(no more 610) is a FREAKING JOKE in the valley where 50% to 70%(this is a guess) of the fan base is and we cant even get the stupid channel before, during, or after the games. Our so called Wasatch front fan base which is huge I hear, just doesn't drive anything. I would really like to hear the stats on how many people from Wasatch front tune into 1280 during the games, is that larger than what 610 used to get?????? Somebody has to have these Stats in this day and age. I sometimes still tune into 610 to listen to AL for pregame and postgame because the station actually works in my truck. The others fade in and so bad still.

USU has 1 of it's best Football and BBall seasons in forever and we still have a hard time getting fans to Show up to games, on Twitter, etc.......Normally the fans show up to watch winning and good teams.....Our fans are waiting till we win the super bowl 3 years in a row, then they will buy tickets.
Last night was amazing in the spectrum and Saturday will be NUTZ.....That part was kool.

Re: Parks on 1280 just said
I agree, it is become more difficult to listen. But with the Internet and other forms of media, it’s not about radio listenership. It’s about the money that we get from the rights. KVNU, as usual, doesn’t want to pay enough for USU’s rights and USU deserves to have more for its rights. Unless the Cache Valley Radio Group pays more for the games, others will have the rights.AggieSox wrote: ↑February 27th, 2019, 4:25 pmI totally agree with this.

It's really quite easily to listen to aggie games, just down load the 1280 the zone app and listen. It amazes me that people will spend more time (I can't express myself without swearing) about something instead of just resolving the problem.AggieSox wrote: ↑February 27th, 2019, 4:25 pmI totally agree with this.

I live in Vegas and listen to 1280 pre and post game....it's crystal clear on 1280 app or Tune-In Radio app. I'm not that young but this is how I listen to all radio stations now, even local ones that I might be able to get through terrestrial radio.

I get what you’re saying. We need a bigger fan base for sure. It just cracks me up when a radio station complains nobody listens to them when they haven’t covered Aggie sports for 30 years. Of course no Aggie fans listen to you. Duh.AggieSox wrote: ↑February 27th, 2019, 4:28 pmThat's True kinda......bluegrouse wrote: ↑February 27th, 2019, 11:55 amGoes both ways. The 92.3 FM feed of 1280 is crystal clear for me in Logan for pre, post and game time coverage. Do others have problems with it?
I don’t think the rest of 1280 content (ie. talk shows, etc.) are carried on the FM channel tho...

Re: Parks on 1280 just said
I listen to games I cannot get on tv on the 1280 app. T I am not going to waste time listening to morons like PK on an app when none of the hosts give a rip about USU anyway, and rarely talk about them. I waste my drive time listening to satellite.

92.3 works well in Logan, but it doesn't have a big transmitter, so you can't pick it up in other parts of the valley like Smithfield, for example.bluegrouse wrote: ↑February 27th, 2019, 4:58 pmThe 92.3 FM feed of 1280 is crystal clear for me in Logan for pre, post and game time coverage. The fans will come with continued winning. In football and basketball, the last few seasons have been rough. We can’t expect people to come running back immediately. Towards the end of the football season, the stadium began to fill more because we were winning. The same is happening to basketball. They’ll come back. I think that statement is dumb that we don’t support because I truly believe Aggie fans are the most supportive in the state.

Re: Parks on 1280 just said
Actually in football last year, our best attendance was at the first of the year as always. The students showed up when the weather was good and it was trendy. Towards the end of the year, despite having a great season of football, the students poorest showings were in November despite great weather. I’m not sure winning sports has much to do with student attendance, I think that affects the general community more. I think students get caught up with what’s trendy for them.TrueBlueAggie123 wrote: ↑February 27th, 2019, 6:24 pmThe fans will come with continued winning. The students today are not the students of 10 years ago. Clearly different motivations and interests

Re: Parks on 1280 just said
Never been more easy to listen. The app, on line and I listen everyday driving around in my truck all on the am dial all over the valley. It’s crystal clear, at times if it’s stormy it’s got some static... those days I just listen through the app. To say they never talk about us just shows you never listen. Hans and Scotty talk a lot about us. I listen every day and it’s a lot of fun. The morning shows don’t say as much and the afternoon show hardly ever, but 12-3 is awesome and I would highly recommend tuning in.bluegrouse wrote: ↑February 27th, 2019, 11:55 amGoes both ways. Game came in crystal clear for me while driving around town last night delivering kids to dance/gymnastics/basketball. Right through my truck’s speakers and everything! And I live in central WA....

I listen to 1280 all the time. The app makes it so easy to listen to, so it doesn't matter if you get it locally, which is good, since I live in Alaska. I will definitely tweet to Parks today, and I have tweeted a bunch of times to Hans and Scotty.

Re: Parks on 1280 just said
Totally agree on posts about how poorly 1280 comes in- and from what i have heard kvnu was not even given a chance to bid on broadcasting the games. Moron athletic director- competition will always bring the price down and give providers an incentive to provide a better product. Charging to park is also a poor choice- if people have tickets- let them park for free- people here have big families and its just one more way to nickle and dime those who support athletics,
Re: Parks on 1280 just said
Every school charges to park. The parking fee is minimal. Got to find other things to complain about.

Re: Parks on 1280 just said
I wouldn't say that every school charges. I've been to games at UVU, Weber and BYU and don't remember any of them charging for parking over the past couple of years. UVU used to but they haven't the last few times I've been. That being said, there are plenty of free options at USU.

Re: Parks on 1280 just said
I'm surprised in the modern age that is still a reason for not talking more about USU. It seems like a 90's excuse. Now people can listen from anywhere in the world. Anyone who thinks Utah and byu basketball fans are more interested in their teams right now than Aggie fans are out of their minds. I sometimes venture over to cougarboard after they lose for my own entertainment and much of what is expressed is apathy and how they don't care anymore.

If I can listen to 1280 in Arizona, then you can listen to 1280 in Cache Valley.

Here is the problem with needle movement for the fan base. I tune in, they think it’s to listen to BYU, I turn it off because the don’t talk about Utah state. That is what they are missing, if they talked about usu, more people would listen overall. And they can’t track witch radio station I listen too on the radio. On line, yes, radio no.

Re: Parks on 1280 just said
Don't blame the bs that goes on so much on the athletic director. Doug Hoffman is a pathetic leftover from previous bad administrations and still lingers and festers causing problems with media and various opportunities for media coverage. he'll continue to do so as long as he's there.
