Teams I Want to Win Today
1. Utah State (obviously)
2. Iona. As cool as it would be to knock off UNC ourselves, I won't feel bad at all if Iona does it for us.
3. UC Irvine. Having beaten them already, it would make us look better if they do well. Plus, if they win it will be at the expense of Kansas Sate.
4. That same logic sort of applies to Houston and Arizona State. But not as much because we lost to them. And also meh.
5. Mid majors, generally.
6. Underdogs, generally.

Classic Blunders:
1) Getting involved in a land war in Asia
2) Going in against a Sicilian when death is on the line

Re: Teams I Want to Win Today
Tricky thing this year: a lot of the underdogs are P5 schools, so pulling for the lower seed means cheering against a mid major, ie Buffalo, Wofford, etc.
Of course, this is on top of the weird phenomenon where we cheer for snooty rich kid schools over the kind of place we'd actually go, just because of conference affiliation and seeding.

That is why the order of (5) and (6) matters. Mid-major wins should be more important than underdog wins.SeattleAg wrote: ↑March 22nd, 2019, 11:17 amTricky thing this year: a lot of the underdogs are P5 schools, so pulling for the lower seed means cheering against a mid major, ie Buffalo, Wofford, etc.

Re: Teams I Want to Win Today
In this order:
1. Aggies.
2. Mid-majors (even if favored)
3. Underdogs
Keep it simple. Go down the list until one applies.

Re: Teams I Want to Win Today
Number 2 should be obvious, considering we fall in that category as well. We would hope everyone would be cheering for us to beat Washington.Mr. Sneelock wrote: ↑March 22nd, 2019, 11:42 amIn this order:

Irvine - because they have the best mascot in the tournament, and because K-state fans are steaming turds.

I want Irvine to win for many reasons, the largest of which is to punish the K-State guard and his "Sideshow Bob gone very, very wrong" hairdo.brownjeans wrote: ↑March 22nd, 2019, 1:06 pmIrvine - because they have the best mascot in the tournament, and because K-state fans are steaming turds.

Seriously, the worst we have ever faced. If BYU were playing K-State, I seriously think I would root for the zoobs. And that is saying something.brownjeans wrote:Irvine - because they have the best mascot in the tournament, and because K-state fans are steaming turds.
