Denver

Post by SLB » November 11th, 2019, 12:23 pm

Here is a rundown of what I found out.
3 Guard 2 forward team
Top 4 players in minutes are guards.
Forwards range from 6'8"-6'10" 215-240 and don't rebound well
Top 3 rebound per game are their 3 starting 3 guards
Have been out rebound by a margin of 6.5 per game
3 point shooting is their strength with a whooping 42.4 % from beyond the arc as a team.
FT % as a team is 52.4%. lol

If we play about 1/2 to 3/4 as good as we did vs Weber, we could probably still win by double digits. Don’t want to take them lightly, but we should win pretty handily if we play somewhat well. But Montana State taught us that if they have one or two guards that get hot and hit everything...aka Frey, it can be a close game.

What's the over/under on total rebounds for Mr. Bean if Denver's forwards don't rebound well? 12?

Do they not rebound well or were the rebounds off their numerous three’s clang 18 feet off the rim?

25.5 Murkey 6'5 200 G: 48.0% FG; 66.7% 3P; 5.0 RPG; 3 A; 4 TO
25.5 Gatlin 6'3 180 G: 66.7% FG; 60.0% 3P; 4.5 RPG; 5 A; 0 TO

13.0 Kurnaz 6'8 220 F: 66.7% FG; 0.0% 3P; 2.0 RPG; 2 A; 1 TO

So, 4 forwards see decent minutes, and they are have good range, 6'9, 6'9, 6'10, and 6'8; and 5 guards see decent minutes.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

USU has lost three straight games to Denver. In the last game in 2013, Marcel Davis missed a free throw that could have won the game in regulation. In overtime, Spencer Butterfield hit a game-tying 3 with 18 seconds left, only to have Denver's Brett Olson hit a game winner from about 30 feet out. Current Jazzman Royce O'Neale went 4/10 for 14 points, 5 assists, and 3 rebounds in that game.

It’s not often that both of my Alma Mater’s battle on the court. But when they do, I always go want the Aggies to prevail.

The two years in Denver were awesome, but I spent all of my school aged years in the Valley, and my parents both worked on campus while I was growing up. Since we moved back to Utah I don’t really follow DU sports much. But my DU sheepskin is bigger by quite a bit.

Go Aggies!!

For me, Denver will always be associated with the team that killed that Spectrum.

It was the game following 'the apology'. Students sat in protest (so stupid). The team suffered major injuries, fan interest waned, the team lost & struggled going forward, and the spectrum's incredible run finally came to an end.

Bean ended up with 15 rebounds last night. Outperformed my expectations.
