Basketball Blue Bloods
What do the following men's basketball teams have in common:
Kentucky
Duke
Kansas
North Carolina
UCLA
Arizona
Michigan St.
Florida
Georgia
LSU
Louisville
Syracuse
UConn
Indiana
Maryland
Oregon
New Mexico St.
That's right...None of them are in the AP top 25! If I told you at the start of the season that none of the teams above would be in the Top 25 by today, nobody would have believed it. (Especially not Frank)

Re: Basketball Blue Bloods
I'm not sure I'd classify some of those as "blue bloods", but I get the point. Neither Duke nor Kentucky being in the top 25 is not something I'd have predicted.aggieref wrote: ↑February 8th, 2021, 2:34 pmWhat do the following men's basketball teams have in common:

It is rather amazing how many teams on your list have coaches in the highest paid college basketball coaches list.

Re: Basketball Blue Bloods
Anybody who has been on this board long enough is well aware of New Mexico State's Blue Blood designation. We were all students in Frank's School of NewMaggie Indoctrination. Instead of learning our times tables, we were drilled in heights, weights, 40 times, composite star rankings, and all other statistics relevant to the glowing beacon of hoops excellence that is New Mexico State.
It wasn't all numbers and math, though. Our schooling also consisted of intense courses in the fine arts of repetition, excuses, false claims, preemptively declaring success before any games were played, exasperating rhetoric, and trolling.
In spite of our best efforts to learn at the feet of the master, however, nobody here quite seemed to reach his level. Indeed, people on this board often fell victim to the insidious influence of such fatal flaws as logic, reasoning, character, and sometimes even let slip the worst of all sins: waiting for results on the court before making claims of superiority.
Frank, the master of New Mexico State Aggie indoctrination, clearly despaired of ever helping us realize the true greatness of New Mexico State, as his presence has sadly been lacking on this board for far too long.
In spite of his absence, however, the Legend of Frank the NewMag Apologist lives on here at usufans.com.

I miss Frank sometimes. I hope he is still alive and got some help but wouldn't bet on it.

you wouldn't bet on the being alive? or the getting help? Just trying to gauge your level of pessimism.pilotaggie wrote: ↑February 8th, 2021, 4:13 pmI miss Frank sometimes. I hope he is still alive and got some help but wouldn't bet on it.

Re: Basketball Blue Bloods
NMSU is getting the laughs, but Georgia is hardly a blueblood either. As someone who has lived in the South and around Georgia fans, most Georgia fans care more about if they are on a 5 star football recruit's final 5 list of schools than how their basketball team is doing. Ditto for LSU although LSU has had some legit basketball success in the past unlike Georgia.

Man, if he were alive he'd be here at least once a week to talk about their center's laser-timed 40.Yossarian wrote: ↑February 8th, 2021, 4:32 pmyou wouldn't bet on the being alive? or the getting help? Yeah I am afraid Frank has passed on. RIP to him and condolences to his family, friends, the players he coached and the NMSU family who lost a great supporter.
I wish they would have done a digital funeral so we all could have paid our respects.

After some internet detective work I can confirm that Frank is indeed alive and well.

Has anybody checked out the Grand Canyon University board? Maybe he's just moved over there.
