Never really ever played at BYU due to injury this year and sitting out due to transfer rules. However before BYU he was the wac freshman of the year. Not sure what his injury was this year. But out of hs was a high 3 star recruit that we went after out of Arizona. Remember I could t believe we had lost out to uvu.

You're not excited about a 6'10" unathletic kid that has career averages are 4.2 ppg, 2.3 rpg, 0.4 apg and 39.9% FG with 81% of the shots he takes being 3 pointers? :headscratch:

WAC Freshman of the year averaging 4.6 ppg? Must have been a rough year in the WAC. Please tell me it isnt this bad.

If I recall he came on towards the end of the year. Slow start and got much better by the end. But yes I was surprised as well when I saw those numbers. Again I don’t know if he has injury issues that could carry over but would be a good add imo if healthy.

I don't think so. I mean, look at the schools we'd be up against right now. UVU, Denver, & Idaho State. Is that really who we're going to compete with for recruits? If so, we're in a world of hurt.

If we are wanting a player that does what this guy does, why not Brandon Horvath, who has done it at an all-conference level? This Wyatt character had his chance to be an Aggie and blew it. Let him rot in Pocatello.

Don’t disagree with you there. Horvath seems solid and more proven for sure.

I’m just pointing this kids background out and that it is not as bad as some on this board will assume.

I appreciated the context, but it doesn’t move the needle. The guy wanted so much to be a Cougar that he chose BYU’s farm school, UVU, over USU out of high school so that he could easily make the transition.

That’s just not really a guy I can cheer for.

I get it. I think he could be a good guy for us in the rotation at 5-8 range. But not much more. Just my opinion based upon the limited background I know of this kid.

I can see that. We just need to add starters right now.

I am also heavily biased against him because he is a Cougar, had pretty pedestrian stats in his “good” season, has already had two major injuries, and had the gall to choose UVU over USU the first time around.

In regards to Wyatt Lowell, I'll add that he also happens to play the exact same position as the one position we seem to have solidified on the Roster as a Forward.

The same as Bean, McChesney, & Cade Potter.

And he’s gonna tear a hole in the heart of an entire fanbase if he’s the best we can do right now. A walking injury.

So he's Liam with a worse injury history, but can at least stay upright during a stiff canyon wind. Fine player in theory but we can do better. Horvath would be a clear choice over him.

Ok coach Odom. Go ahead and bring in Eytle-Rock and Horvath, one P5 underclassman, and a highly rated high school player. Let’s get it done.

Let's say that we got Eytle-Rock, Horvath, and Lowell out of the transfer portal
We would still have the tallest team thing, and we would have height advantage with 5 players that could play that are 6'10" and above. We would have probably McChesney, Horvath, and Lowell as potential players to rotate with Miller. I do like the idea of having shooters that are 6'10".

Ideally, between the P5 player and the high schooler, we get a defensive center and an athletic, scoring SF.

Utah State linked recruit
Never really ever played at BYU due to injury this year and sitting out due to transfer rules. However before BYU he was the wac freshman of the year. Not sure what his injury was this year. But out of hs was a high 3 star recruit that we went after out of Arizona. Remember I could t believe we had lost out to uvu.
If we are wanting a player that does what this guy does, why not Brandon Horvath, who has done it at an all-conference level? This Wyatt character had his chance to be an Aggie and blew it. Let him rot in Pocatello.
Exactly.

Tore his labrum and had sugery last July. Tore his achilles tendon in January ending his season.
NEVER take a player that's torn their achillies. Recent memory recalls even Kobe and Demarcus Cousins were shells of themselves post-achillies tears.
