USU v. Montana Western
I thought Bean and Horvath looked great together. The starting 5 mostly played pretty well.
The bench was ROUGH.
Where was Norbert Thelissen?

He got in the last 2 minutes. I thought we’d see him moreineptimusprime wrote:I thought Bean and Horvath looked great together. The starting 5 mostly played pretty well.

Re: USU v. Montana Western
The Good
The starting 5 - Horvath, Bean, Miller, Eytle-Rock, and Jones
Shulga and Potter
The potential
Zee
Good and Bad
Ashworth
The Bad- everyone else
The injuries did play a factor in this game on who was in.
The bigs should be Bean, Horvath, Potter, and Dorius.
Our top 4 guards from that game were Eytle-Rock, Jones, Miller, and Shulga without question, and Ashworth was clearly the 5th best guard out there.

Re: USU v. Montana Western
There was some discussion in chat that Thelissen may have been sitting most of the game for non-basketball related reasons. It’s weird with the reports that he was threatening for a starting spot that he got so little run tonight. No idea if there is any truth to that, but thought I’d pass along.
I think the 8 man rotation will be Bean, Horvath, Eytle-Rock, Jones, Miller, Shulga, Ashworth, and Hamoda/Potter, at least until Bairstow and Dorius are healthy.
I was pleasantly surprised with Potter.

Shulga looked very steady and under control. Want to see him shoot more.

I mean, from what I saw tonight the 5 best guys are Bean, Horvath, Eytle-Rock, Jones, and Shulga.

Re: USU v. Montana Western
I liked Ashworth shooting over Jones but not anything else. This is why I put him in good and bad

Re: USU v. Montana Western
Ashworth hit some shots. Sure seemed like Montana Western went on runs when he was in, and it seemed like he was still turning it over a bit on drives.
Hard to judge much over the radio. It really feels like we coasted to that 30 point win, which is both good and bad.

Re: USU v. Montana Western
Unforced errors on offense and defense by Ashworth, but Ashworth's drive and shooting and some moments. Good and badineptimusprime wrote: ↑October 27th, 2021, 9:35 pmAshworth hit some shots. Re: USU v. Montana Western
My two cents is that I’m cautiously optimistic after this game. And I think Hamoda is definitely getting to get solid minutes.

This game felt pretty much exactly like the game against College of Idaho last year, and we were fine last year.

Re: USU v. Montana Western
The only ding on Shulga was did not shoot any 3s and refused to shoot 3s. It is confidence thing which is odd since he was suppose to be great 3 point shooter from Europe.

Re: USU v. Montana Western
I didn’t see this game but I hope Ashworth gets more time this year. Defense will always be a struggle for him, but he might have the highest offensive ceiling on the team. His shot is so pure.

Re: USU v. Montana Western
Ashworth looked uneven in the game, and Shulga looked a lot better than Ashworth. Imagine being a guy projecting Shulga as a starter for this season during last season, what crazy person would do that

So was this game televised or not. The Twitter highlights show a Stadium/MW Network score banner across the top as if it was a broadcast. How come we couldn’t watch it? Is the recording available now to watch?

That’s what I thought but the roster had him wearing #14

Re: USU v. Montana Western
I’m 54 and I seriously think I could out-lift Horvath. He’s going to get pushed around underneath the basket, a lot. I’ll be curious how he does. He moves around well, I’ll say that.
