Re: Really not embarrassing second impression for Odom
So things I loved:
(1) Justin Bean!
(2) the Bean/Horvath/Dorius lineup;
(3) Rylan Jones getting more aggressive;
(4) the tightening of the rotation. We only played 8 guys, and I think that is probably the right call until Bairstow is back;
(5) Hamoda improvement. He did well in his minutes. I think Odom will ease him in and let him develop.
Things I didn’t love:
(1) RJ still struggling;
(2) Ashworth defense.
Also, not a great time to be holding that Shulga stock.

I liked the part where Ashworth didn’t take contested half court shots with time on the clock.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑November 12th, 2021, 7:28 pmSo things I loved:

That first game had us all worried. Amazing turnaround tonight, this W could very well turn into a Quad 1 victory, definitely a quad 2.

Doing my part sharing this. I think this is the right crowd for this.
I did the $25 as an atonement of sorts.

Re: Really not embarrassing second impression for Odom
I invested and live with it, but I will say that RJ better be careful because Shulga/Ashworth might eat his minutes if he continues to struggle. Zee is one that caught my attention since we are invested in Zee playing. I have to imagine that Bairstow is playing as soon as possible after he is back from his injury. My guess that he takes Miller's spot since Miller is out there for 30 minutes.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑November 12th, 2021, 7:28 pmSo things I loved:

What am I missing with the RJ hate?
Guys numbers are very good and his intangibles are even better.

No RJ hate, and he definitely isn’t hurting us. He seems to be struggling to get to his spots and finish compared to last year at UMBC.

His ball handling hasn't been good thus far. No hate, just surprising as I think many of us anticipated he'd be a good ball handler.

He lost one game and doesn’t show enough emotion on the sideline. We don’t want him. Take him.Gallipoli wrote:I hear Richmond is hiring, you better increase Odom's salary.

I'm actually really smart, probably smarter than you are so if you disagree with what I have stated in this post, you are likely wrong (and dumb).

I agree with everything you’ve said about Ertyle Rock though.

Maybe I missed this, what happened to Norbert Thelissen? Just not good enough yet?

It was really weird seeing reports he was going to start and now seeing him get no minutes. Not sure what’s going on there. I was thinking given his age and pro experience, he’d be game-ready.
I’ve wondered if there was some eligibility or off-court issue that would crop up as the explanation, but that hasn’t happened.

Re: Really not embarrassing second impression for Odom
Odom told the coaches luncheon crowd that Thelissen arrived late to fall practices from The Netherlands and just hasn't caught up yet with the flow of things. They are working to get him there, all of the calls, plays, formations, etc. He'll be fine.
