Horvath
Ok, I just had to give a shout out to Brandon. The dude is balling out. His ability to hit the 3 at a high percentage has totally opened up the floor for his teammates. He also rebounds at a high level and can handle the ball very well for his height. It’s typical for a transfer to take some time to adjust and settle in on a new team (ie RJ-ER) but Horvath has been assertive from game one. He could very well end up with some level of conference recognition at the end of the season at this rate.

Re: Horvath
He has been awesome. Him hitting threes opens up the floor. If him and bean can keep hitting 3's this offense can be really good.

That should be fine as long as it's not in a NASCAR kind of way but in a "Let's go Aggies!!!" kind of way.AGGIEinIOWA wrote: ↑November 19th, 2021, 10:14 pmOk, I just had to give a shout out to Brandon. Three floor spacers, and elite defense. That would’ve been a Sweet 16 lineup easily.

Re: Horvath
Did we seriously have three guys that would be on the “All-Time” Aggie team playing together at once?
I mean, maybe? I think Merrill and Queta are for certain all-timers and probably both in the starting 5. Bean may well earn himself a spot too depending on how this season goes, although he may not be a starter.
I think Odom’s offense and the added floor spacing we have on this roster (including Bean’s own improvement there) have allowed Bean to find another gear.

Back to Horvath:
He is currently in the top 25 in the nation in 3Pt%. He doesn't have to stay there, The message is on film. Someone (usually the other team's big man) needs to be out on coverage. Middle will be even wider open if Jones and Bean keep up their numbers. And there is enough Miller film that the opposing team's recognize his threat. Can't imagine what it would be like if Eytle-Rock found his range.

RJ figuring it out is the last revelation we need before knowing how good we can be. If he can even turn himself into a 10 ppg scorer, limit turnovers, and hit threes at 35% + clip, watch out.
Honestly, if he can just limit turnovers and hit two threes a game at a 35% to 40% clip, it’d be fantastic.

Horvath was a huge pickup for the Aggies. He and Bean are meshing nicely.
I didn't realize Horvath was 5'9" as a senor in high school??? Is that correct?

Re: Horvath
That's what the announcers said... I mean, I knew he was shorter and played as a guard (part of why he handles the ball well now), but 5'9" as a senior in high school, and 6'10" now? That's bonkers.

Stew coached at USU for what, 20 years? During any of those seasons, I'd of traded AT LEAST 90% of the roster for a guy like Horvath! No doubt our recruiting has gotten better in recent years.

I like that as a guard line better than Jaycee and Sam....both are somewhat close, but Nate and Shaler better. and had NBA careers.flying_scotsman2.0 wrote: ↑November 20th, 2021, 4:47 pmJones, Merrill, Bean, Horvath, Quetaineptimusprime wrote: ↑November 20th, 2021, 4:21 pmJones, Anthony, Bean, Horvath, Queta.OrangeCountyAggie wrote: ↑November 20th, 2021, 3:19 pmWhat if...Queta had come back for one more and you had a lineup that included:SwaggieAggie wrote: ↑November 20th, 2021, 1:28 pmCan’t even begin to describe what a dude like Horvath could’ve meant to the team during the Sam and Neemi years

He did come back in the game at the end. I am guessing he will be fine. Be nice to get him some rest over the next week. Ankles are tough since once you injure it any slight tweak can re-aggravate them.
