Re: Odom = Duryea
The only reason we are in these game s is because of Odom. He isn’t the one bricking 3’s and free throws. Atrocious shooting and we don’t have the bodies to match up against anyone in the MW.

We just aren't very good. I don't think it is Odom's fault. At least not yet.

Not even close to the same situation. Duryea had tons of talent, arguably more than Smith did. Odom was dealt a tough hand.

Re: Odom = Duryea
He better get it figured out next season. This has been terrible. Welcome to big.boy basketball. Odom has to win me over because I’m not seeing anything positive from him.

Re: Odom = Duryea
I have no idea if Odom is a good coach or not but this team is not very good. Other than Bean and Bairstow we are really not very athletic and we’re pretty small at the guard spots. I’m surprised our record isn’t worse honestly.

Re: Odom = Duryea
Dureyas recruiting played a big part in Craig Smiths success, and Smiths poor recruiting is playing a big part in odoms failures. This roster can’t win and this roster is Smiths not Odoms

No Turdya had Sam. This team has no Sam caliber player. I disagree with the OP.

Re: Odom = Duryea
Odom is part of the equation but this team would have a way better record if the players made shots. I blame this season on the players and their shooting.

Re: Odom = Duryea
Agreed. There are many negative things going on and not many things to be optimistic about. What would it take for him to be fired at the end of this year? Any chance of that? (Genuine question, I'm not saying he should (yet) haha)
Utah State Hey Aggies all the way! Go Aggies! Go Aggies! Hey! Hey! Hey!
Re: Odom = Duryea
There are drills to improve shooting. Odom has no idea. Runs no plays when needed. If it's because he has no players, that's his fault. He could have brought in some better players.

Re: Odom = Duryea
This is all of it. This team has shown it has the talent to win. We're not getting blown out. What we lack is guys that can fix themselves mentally as the game goes on. Iowa is the only team we didn't belong on the floor with.

Re: Odom = Duryea
Mentally weak. Can't make FTs, we panic and turn the ball over. Miss open looks. Miss layups.
Gotta put some of the blame on the coaches when your team is mentally weak.

I have been to all the home games and our shooting is actually really good in warm ups. We hit a ton of 3s and jump shots. We just never can in the games.

Hard to know how to allocate blame between coaches and players but we play incredibly stupid basketball in the final two minutes of close games. It's a clear pattern now.

Re: Odom = Duryea
The coach is 100% responsible for his product on the floor, and this product is embarrassing and getting worse as the season progresses that is on Odom his undisciplined offense approach is a near identical reflection of duryeas, Odom has been a complete disappointment

Re: Odom = Duryea
All of you freaking out, I get it — I was there.
Just learn to accept as I did that we just don’t have the talent this year and stop worrying about the wins and losses this season.
What I hope to see is improvement and development from the guys on the roster that have shown promise, and a swift (but polite) kick out the door for the other half of the roster in the offseason.
Were I Odom, I would honestly use the rest of this season to figure out who is worth bringing back next season. Let Zee and Shulga get extended run. Those are the only two on the roster that are still question marks, IMO.
Ashworth, Jones, Bairstow, and RJER (if he is willing to get in better shape and accept a bench role) should be back. Everyone else aside from Zee and Shulga (who are still question marks) should be shown the door.

Re: Odom = Duryea
Horvath went from shooting over 80% from the FT line to clanking them off the glass. He's missed his last 7 free throws.

So what has happened? Seems like a confidence thing and the whole team looks tentative out there.

It's all mental. This is probably the best the MWC has ever been and we've been right there, only to flail about in the last minute trying to make up for missed FTs throughout the game.

100% lack of confidence. That's more mental than coaching in my opinion. We have a perfect storm of multiple players lacking confidence.
