All I can say is at least he was consistent.
Pretty much any good play that USD made had him yelling like they just won the natty.

I had it muted for the whole game because of people sleeping in the room. Was able to turn on sound for overtime. Turned it right back off.

I laughed out loud when that Williams guy hit a routine 3 pointer 1 foot behind the line and the announcer screams "FROM HALF COURT!!" Dude was crazy

My wife gave me the business because everyone else was asleep and I hadn't been listening. His volume caught us all off guard

I muted at half. Soft whisper on the run of the mill play by play. Earhole rupturing loud on any big usd play.

His ability to go from breaking the speakers on my TV to "golf mode" in a split second was unparalleled.
And his inability to keep up with the action on the court was equally impressive

I say Davis the NFL announcer is worse. I swear Davis is superhuman with talking over an entire football game without taking a break or taking a breath.

It would probably be less annoying if you were rooting for the same team as him. Hearing "COUNT IT!" every time the other team made a shot made them that much more frustrating.

What I was left wondering the whole second half was how many points Williams had.

I felt a little bad for the guy. It was almost like an alien trying to copy human broadcaster behavior, but the only example of “broadcaster” the alien was able to see was clips of the NBA JAM video game from the 90s.

Re: If you were forced to listen to the USD Toreros announcer, you may be entitled to compensation.
I quit listening to Al Lewis a few years before he was replaced as the play-by-play for USU. He has to be the worst announcer all time.
* He refereed the game. Sometimes he was yelling how bad the call was and other times he just nonchalantly blurted out that Aggies were fouled even though the referee didn’t call it. You would of thought we got screwed every game listening to him.
* He also would call a basket before it went in and then constantly having to retract it. Same go with interceptions, touch downs, or fumbles.
* On big plays he would start screeching to the point you had no idea if we caught a touchdown or it was intercepted. It was so frustrating to having to wait for him to calm down to finally discover what took place.
After the game, if watched the game on YouTube or something, you would not believe you were watching the same game that Al just did the play-by-play. I really like Scotty G and hope he continues to do the play-by-play even if we are lucky enough to get it on local radio station.

Yes, and any time a USD player took the first motion to begin a three point shot.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑November 17th, 2022, 10:38 pmBy big play you mean any time USD made a basket.
Hey, Torero fans …
… if there are any, I started watching the game wanting to see if the Aggies could stay undefeated. I finished watching the game to see if they could shut your guy up.
