And for USU's keys:

1. Defensive rebounding - they cannot continue to give opponents 2 and 3 attempts to score on a single possession. USU must block out and limit Nevada's offensive rebounds.

2. Keep the ball moving on offense and don't hesitate to shoot when open. The offense stalls when one person dominates the ball on possessions. USUs offense is a thing of beauty when they pass the ball rapidly. The guy that has the open shot must not hesitate - the shot needs to go up quickly and in rhythm when it is there.

3. Keep Trevin Dorius out of foul trouble. Akin will be more effective at defending Baker on the perimeter, but Dorius can put some pressure on the Nevada defense with the pick and roll and his low post scoring.

I would add the Aggies need to force one of NEvada's stars (Lucas, Blackshear, Baker) to have an off night. Nevada is probably the deepest offensive team in the conference and cannot afford to have all 3 of their stars at their averages.

I really want to hate Nevada, but Murray and Nvspuds just make it so hard.

Honestly, Nevada is one of my favorite games, especially in basketball.. Some great history between USU and Nevada and their fans seem like good dudes.

In the MWC tournament, I will be first cheering for the aggies, if they happen to get knocked out in the first game I will be cheering for San Jose, if they also lose I will be cheering for Nevada to win it all. I like the coach and the team. The only reason I have ever disliked Nevada in the past was because of Musslemans wife falsely accusing the fan section of chanting a racist slur. I wasn't a fan of muscleman antics, but it was never enough to make me cheer against them.

My dislike of Alford goes back 20 years from when he coached the Hawkeyes. He was very self centered and egotistical in his early coaching days, a hangover from his stellar career as a player at Indians. I still have a hard time getting past his Iowa persona. I think he was humbled by his UCLA experience as he seems much more likable since him and his longtime side kick (Craig Neal) rolled into Reno.

We are going to have to score more points than UNR. Simple as that. Score more than them, and we'll have a fighting chance.
