Wouldn’t love it. If a guy like WoJo can’t succeed at a place like Marquette with more resources at his disposal, why would we expect him to succeed at USU? A hire like that would remind me of when Kansas hired Charlie Weis in football after he was let go at Notre Dame. Charlie Weis, like WoJo, was not terrible at his prior stop, but, Charlie Weis, like WoJo, was not good enough to keep his prior job either. If you don’t know how the Charlie Weis story ended at Kansas, it was not pretty.
I think I’d prefer Dixon, honestly. This would be about the worst hire possible of the names I’ve heard thrown around on here.

It’s Woj, but he didn’t recruit this player and wasn’t great at Marquette.
.574 overall, .465 in Conf play over 7 years. one 12-6 year, one 10-8, the rest under .500. My friend that follows X says that Marq typically has the biggest budget in BEast -a program which had a stretch of 8 NCAA tourneys 2006-2013- Wojo's estimated salary in 2019 was just shy of $2.0M
That's some serious underachievement, if you ask me.

Boise lands another. Candidly, I’m not jealous about this one. He’s about the last KU player I’d want here.

I can't believe I'm saying this but maybe we gave up on Duryea too soon. He's helped Boise State reach new heights with his recruiting and game planning. Maybe Duryea just needed better assistants.

Re: Mw basketball transfers
Man, if only we had Duryea we could get someone from a school like Kansas who in his senior year scored 7 points and got 2 rebounds... in the entire season, true he was injured but having a shoulder injury that causes him to miss nearly the entire season may not be ideal for him playing again. Also true that he was a star for Missouri Southern State University before transferring to Kansas, but looking it up today was the first time I have ever heard of that school. It's a little hubris for a former MSSU star and playing as many minutes at Kansas last year as Connor Gillis played for USU to say he is going to be the difference in Boise getting their first ever NCAA win. My prediction is he will be a big nothing to worry about.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑April 4th, 2023, 10:43 am

Re: Mw basketball transfers
Apparently Providence would team him up with a former AAU teammate. He already visited Kansas, and has interest from Xavier and Gonzaga. The Providence visit is still a 5-7 away, so anything could happen. No worries about him being in the MWC.

Re: Mw basketball transfers
Seems about right to me. I dont think he is a high level MWC player. He shoots the 3 well on occasion but I wasn't expecting to see him pop on any of the top tier rosters.

Re: Mw basketball transfers
On3 has a forecast for where they think each player will land. Gilbert had been 100% forecasted to Iowa State for at least a week. Darrion Williams is likely headed there also. Graham Ike will end up at Providence. These guys seem to have very good intel on the CBB landscape. Almost every commitment I see has been predicted on their site prior to being announced. Re: Mw basketball transfers
SDSU just picked up Reese Dixon-Waters who was USC's 6th man this year. Averaged 25 MPG and 9.8 PPG. 6'5" guard who is not a great 3 pt threat (29.6%) but I bet he can defend.

The funny thing is that they get big names in the transfer portal only have them mostly disappear when the basketball season starts.FootballAgg wrote: ↑April 14th, 2023, 10:49 amI don’t like playing second fiddle to Boise in the transfer portal.

Re: Mw basketball transfers
Stanley is a decent get at PF to go along with the Martin kid from Kansas. Considering Dagenhart is still there, I'm a little surprised these two transfers signed up to be his back-up.
