This would be awesome. SLU is a very good and tough team. I sure hope they play in Logan this year.VegasBornAggie wrote: ↑August 23rd, 2023, 12:44 pmhttps://x.com/roccomiller8/status/16943 ... slCr-A9GZw

Re: Schedule Updates
The only thing outside the unconfirmed part of LMU and ETSU has not been announced is our opening day opponent. It is very possible that we announce our non-conference schedule very soon.

Let's see - Ags are at Bradley 11/11 as you stated -
Bahamas the week of Thanksgiving - is that correct?
That would indicate a likely weeknight game in StL 11/27-11/30 - which isn't optimal for me 7 hours is too much to drive on a work day- and I don't think I'll be able to take 2 days off in midweek on a monthend week.

Re: Schedule Updates
If we can’t get h and h with them, we need to just go play a few of them on the road each year. At least 2 or 3 in my opinion. I think these next couple years we will have a mentally tougher team with coach S. Sounds like we will have a defensive minded, more physical team and I think it will be better in the long run. Don’t like how most teams just try to have a 3 point shooting contest most games now.OrangeCountyAggie wrote: ↑August 27th, 2023, 10:14 pmWhich is why we need to schedule more of those games in the regular season. Re: Schedule Updates
I wonder if we won't end up with a weird neutral court game just to fill the dance card. Last year Wyoming played Santa Clara at SLCC at 2 pm on a Wednesday, just because they couldn't get enough teams to come to Laramie that year. And I suppose if you have to have a neutral court OOC with no likelihood of having enough fans come to justify renting the Delta Center, or even the Maverik Center, then SLCC on a weekday afternoon is as good as anywhere.
Nobody here knows anything.

This post makes me sad. Having games like that make no sense for college basketball. Games should be played on campus in front of students and fans.OKAggie wrote: ↑August 28th, 2023, 7:07 amI wonder if we won't end up with a weird neutral court game just to fill the dance card. Re: Schedule Updates
I completely agree. I know it's easier said than done, but I would be completely on board with doing more true road one-and-dones with GOOD teams. Even if that means a loss. Getting experience against a couple top-tier Big East or ACC or Big 12 team would go a long ways in being ready for the tournament, IMO.OrangeCountyAggie wrote: ↑August 27th, 2023, 10:14 pmWhich is why we need to schedule more of those games in the regular season. Plus, with how NET works, even a loss generally won't hurt you much in that type of a game.

Re: Schedule Updates
The problem with loading up the schedule with road games that are 1 and done is that it means fewer home games...which means that season ticket holders aren't happy and I'm guessing we typically make more money on a home game than we would with a 1 and done road game.shoresy wrote: ↑August 28th, 2023, 10:46 amI completely agree. Re: Schedule Updates
I get that, and I don't mean to say that we should load our schedule up with those. But IMO playing a couple road games against tournament-level P5 teams would be much more useful than playing in the Diamond Head or Cayman Islands (unless you can get into a tournament with an actual strong field), though its hard to blame anyone for wanting to go to Hawai'i over West Lafayette.ProvoAggie wrote: ↑August 28th, 2023, 11:12 amThe problem with loading up the schedule with road games that are 1 and done is that it means fewer home games...which means that season ticket holders aren't happy and I'm guessing we typically make more money on a home game than we would with a 1 and done road game.shoresy wrote: ↑August 28th, 2023, 10:46 amI completely agree. The issue is that if we beat someone like Kansas, Gonzaga, or etc. then we take away their shot at a 1 seed and shine in the national basketball program.
