Got hurt during practice yesterday. It doesn't look good. Like season ending not good.

Re: Max Agbonkpolo
It sucks he got injured, but if he was going to be our best player that doesn’t sound like the prospects for our team were great this season to begin with given his body of work to date at the D1 level. Of course, it’s possible he made an astronomical leap this offseason, but I had Max pegged as a MW caliber rotation player that was mostly here to soak up minutes and play good D.
Total bummer news. Any idea of the injury?

Don’t think last year Max. Think Max who was a top recruit out of high school. Think Max who averaged 8 points a game on a decent SC team as a junior. Think an improved Max. And yes, with Sprinkle, D comes first. And losing him takes away a good, rangy defender, that might have been our best defender.

Good thing that we have depth.
Uduje, Burris, and Phelps have the ability to be a 3.
Ian Martinez is an unknown with being a double transfer going through the wavier process.

No it is not, plenty of athletes of had that injury and come back just fine. If you are talking about Jardine, then the USU doctors or Jardine doctors had no idea what they were talking about.Yossarian wrote: ↑September 23rd, 2023, 1:31 pmWe've learned that a Lisfrank injury is career-ending.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑September 23rd, 2023, 11:56 amLame — hope it’s not as bad as it sounds.aggies22 wrote: ↑September 23rd, 2023, 11:52 amFoot injury.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑September 23rd, 2023, 11:35 amIt sucks he got injured, but if he was going to be our best player that doesn’t sound like the prospects for our team were great this season to begin with given his body of work to date at the D1 level. Now the real question is does Max want to come back? And how does that affect the scholarship situation.

Is for sure out this year? Not sure where we are at in confirmation of the injury. If as serious as what has been discussed, I feel most for max. A lot of promise coming from usc. Wyoming situation wasn’t ideal and then a serious injury.bpd wrote: ↑September 23rd, 2023, 5:37 pmNo it is not, plenty of athletes of had that injury and come back just fine. Spoke with 3 basketball players at the football game. They said that Max looked bad at first, but after getting X-rays that proved negative, they expect him to be back to practice by the end of next week. I guess we'll see.

Re: Max Agbonkpolo
For what it is worth, I saw Max walking on my way to the football game Saturday night. He was heading down a steep 800 N road walking without a boot or anything. You could tell he was at a slight discomfort while slightly limping, but nothing too serious that was impeding movement.

Re: Max Agbonkpolo
It is a tough injury because it hurts for a long time. It is not necessarily a career ender but pain tolerance plays a large role. Caleb Martin had a Lisfranc injury his junior year but played through it. That probably cost him a few million buck because teams were wary to draft him because of the injury. He is okay now though. I am not saying he is tougher than your fellow it is just a weird injury. It affects players differently.

All I saw was that it was a foot injury. I've never stated the exact nature. The poor kid was really, really upset after it happened.
