1 voter that had us at 25 last week dropped us off this week.
https://collegepolltracker.com/basketba ... 23/week-13
We received 596 points this week compared to 381 last week. 596 would have been good for 16 in last weeks poll.

Hey you know CPT is good when it crashes every Monday morning. I, along with countless others I'm sure, start hitting refresh as soon as it hits 11. Its a beautiful site.ProvoAggie wrote: ↑January 29th, 2024, 11:18 am1 voter that had us at 25 last week dropped us off this week.

Re: #17/17
Sometimes I think there is an idea of what a top 25 team is. Watching other top 25 teams, they all have weaknesses and bad games and times where they don’t look good. What tends to separate them from others, is they find ways to win close games more often than not. I think we fall into that category just fine. I think maybe the top 5 teams or so are a head above the rest but I think we fit into the grouping of the top 25 anywhere from 10-25.

I've started disabling the site until the poll comes in. Scraping the data takes a lot of server resources so disabling the website for 5-10 minutes allows the scraping to use what it needs without everyone using them to look at an incomplete dataset.tysteve20 wrote: ↑January 29th, 2024, 11:20 amHey you know CPT is good when it crashes every Monday morning. Re: #17
Why? Remember SDSU made it to the finals last year. I think most Aggie fans have P4 goggles on. Remember all P4 teams never play away OOC games and the pay cupcakes at home so when they get to conference play nobody really knows how good the P4 teams are.Madmartigan wrote: ↑January 29th, 2024, 11:16 amI think we are probably 20-25th best team in the country.Bullnamed_gus wrote: ↑January 29th, 2024, 11:14 amP5 NET bias allowed those two teams to jump

Awesome to the see the team getting recognition. Big week ahead with a game at SDSU in the afternoon on FOX. Obviously got to win tomorrow but if they do that the opportunity on Saturday is huge.

Interesting. I guess the 6 point Quad 1 victory on the road against Boise State didn't impress Stefan Krajisnik at all. I call on USUFans members to:ProvoAggie wrote: ↑January 29th, 2024, 11:18 am1 voter that had us at 25 last week dropped us off this week.

I think a lot of us have imposter syndrome. All top 25 teams struggle in some games and have bad stretches. We just pay closer attention to our own team.

Re: #17/17
Texas Tech absolutely deserves the recognition. I'm not thrilled by Creighton, Iowa State and Marquette and even Auburn being ranked ahead. That said is fine. If we just keep doing what we've been doing we'll be top 12 or top 10 by seasons end.SLB wrote: ↑January 29th, 2024, 11:38 amtysteve20 wrote: ↑January 29th, 2024, 11:08 amhttps://apnews.com/hub/ap-top-25-colleg ... tball-poll

Re: #17/17
Yeah, I hate national recognition and the possible upside it could bring to recruiting. I think it's weird when we pretend like we don't care about ranking at all. Obviously a win in the tournament is better than being ranked, but I would be lying to myself if I didn't think it was cool to be ranked mid-season

At least the negative Nancy replies. Claims we were bumped by nm. Not willing to detail all non-mwc team standings with him. We'll just have to win games.
But he does think he knows what's best.

Re: #17/17
Until an Aggie team wins a game in March when it matters, I will take whatever rank is given. I feel too much shame to gripe about being underrated.
Being ranked anywhere in the Top 25 means we are a team people think should win at least one tourney game. I won’t believe we’ll win a game in March until I see it actually happen.
Our tourney record has to be some sort of statistically anomaly. Having so many appearances but so few wins is just the pits.

Last year Jaguars legend Maurice Jones-Drew picked against the Jaguars down the stretch because every time he did they’d win. Ineptimus brings the same energy.

Would be awesome to be in the top 16 when the committee releases their top four seeds in a few weeks. Would really get a lot of eye on the program for the rest of the season. If us and UNM or SDSU can slide in, that would be great.

Re: #17/17
Even if we were in the top 16 of the AP or NET I doubt the committee would give us a top 4 seed this early. We could still earn it and maybe if we win out until then (which would be a miraculous task) then maybe we'll get there.tysteve20 wrote: ↑January 30th, 2024, 7:56 amWould be awesome to be in the top 16 when the committee releases their top four seeds in a few weeks.
