4-4 next 8 games and couldn’t be prouder
I think we will go 4-4 the next 8 games. what a great season, who would have guessed we would have won so many games this year! excited for these games and the MW tournament, then the NCAAs, hope we get some rest before the dance! we look tired.

Re: 4-4 next 8 games and couldn’t be prouder
We look tired because we probably are. No bench whatsoever and if teams are going to be physical with Great and he not get to line he will get even more tired.
Jaxson Grant and Nigel Burris need to be recruited over. Was pretty excited about Burris who had a good freshman season at Idaho. Seems like maybe tried to bulk up but he seems slow and no explosion.
Anyway definitely worried we don’t have much help on bench and our reliant on starters and they are playing huge minutes.

If we go 4-4 over the next 8 I’m not sure we make the tourney. We, quite sillily, played two non-D1 games and 4-4 would leave us at 21-8.

Depends on which games you win and lose, but going 4-4 would put us squarely on the bubble, imo. Ceiling would be a 10 seed again at that point.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑February 6th, 2024, 10:39 pmIf we go 4-4 over the next 8 I’m not sure we make the tourney.

And… a predictable first round exit as per usual.ToastedFlakes52 wrote: ↑February 6th, 2024, 10:43 pmDepends on which games you win and lose, but going 4-4 would put us squarely on the bubble, imo. And yet every year, like clockwork, we keep hearing how deep this version of the Aggies is. I could find posts from at least the last 10 years with people talking about the great depth of USU basketball. Every year we end up running 7, maybe 8, dependable people out there. Guys get tired, especially going up against stronger players that beat them up (literally) night after night.SpectrumMagic wrote: ↑February 6th, 2024, 9:59 pmWe look tired because we probably are. Because in basketball you get to play D2 and D3 schools the first few games that 13 guys are able to look good against, then maybe have it get down to 9 or 10 when we are playing D1 schools but the sub 300 or at least sub 200 ones. Then against upper tier Mountain West competition is when it gets down to 7 or 8 with not even all 7 or 8 of them being athletic enough.Yossarian wrote: ↑February 6th, 2024, 10:45 pmAnd yet every year, like clockwork, we keep hearing how deep this version of the Aggies is. If we go 4-4 and none of the losses are a Q3/4 were in comfortably. We would have to lose a bad game to find ourselves on the bubble.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑February 6th, 2024, 10:39 pmIf we go 4-4 over the next 8 I’m not sure we make the tourney. Our resume is still really good. We’re in a really good conference. Our net will stay fairly high. We have a lot longer than 2 losses to Nevada and SDSUntomeven think about panicking

Re: 4-4 next 8 games and couldn’t be prouder
4-4 would mean we win @ WYO, Fresno, and SJSU and home against AFA. Losses would be at home against BSU, SDSU, UNM and @ CSU. That is very likely based on how we have played lately. I guess we will see how this team responds to adversity. If we want to win in March, we really need to go 7-1 in that stretch. 6-2 may also get it done. I think the last two games have really brought to light the problems most of us have seen in this team all year.
4-4 through that stretch, without the success of this year considered, would be acceptable. When you look at the body of this season and the potential for March, it would be rather disappointing. Anything below 6-2 most likely means we struggle in March. The real question is this, are the last two games an anomaly or a trend?

if we go 4-4 with winning the games above we will not make the NCAA. we would be like 1-6 in Q1 games.

I wouldn't be proud of our guys if we finished 4-4. choking away an easy at-large bid and getting us into the bubble is not impressive, respectfully.

This is correct. We’re no longer worried about missing the tournament, again, unless a bad loss or two,NVAggie wrote: ↑February 7th, 2024, 8:25 am4-4 would mean we win @ WYO, Fresno, and SJSU and home against AFA. We are playing for seeding now. If we want so in a game or two we need a 5 seed imo. And we can’t afford to drop to a 10
