Alley Oop
Honest question - when was the last time we actually scored on one?
My goodness we are bad at them.

Re: Alley Oop
Lots of poor passes on them this year. Need to learn how to lob a soft pass that can be handled and get the timing right. We used to even spend some time on these in hs back in the day, and didn’t do as poorly as we have this year and made several of them.

Re: Alley Oop
SDSU hit one from half court. I was starting to get nervous about the outcome of the game at that point. SO glad our guys went to work and finished strong.

Re: Alley Oop
Alley Oop involves being perfect on timing. With 13 players that haven't played each other until this season makes it difficult to pull it off.PIGSKINAGGIE wrote: ↑February 21st, 2024, 7:42 amLots of poor passes on them this year. Re: Alley Oop
Seems we had more in the first part of the season when the guys were still unfamiliar than we've had in conference play. Also seems Agbonkpolo was on the receiving end of a bunch of those. (Don't trust my memory.)SLB wrote: ↑February 21st, 2024, 10:56 amAlley Oop involves being perfect on timing. Re: Alley Oop
Defense in early season was much easier than our conference games. They pack the middle with an eye on great making it crowded down there.

Falslev has had a few nice dunks this season, but you can’t throw up an alley oop to him in traffic and expect it to be converted.

I'm with @OKAggie in remembering them being much better earlier on. It seems like there have just been a number of bad misses the past few weeks.

Re: Alley Oop
Agreed just do a regular pass and let him lay it up or dunk it he so chooses to. That play was so frustrating because it was a chance to really seize momentum and it turned the other way because of the poor execution. Just glad it did not affect the outcome.
