And There It Goes (Unbalanced Schedule)
This is what happens when a scrub like Utah State beats the schools that are supposed to win championships.

Re: And There It Goes (Unbalanced Schedule)
I actually prefer it this way. The argument that letting the top teams have fewer Q3/Q4 games by skipping 2 of the bottom conference teams goes right out the window when you see that the 2 missing conference opponents are replaced with other Q3/Q4 games. You can still play good OOC teams and trim out the crappy ones to make way for 2 more conference games.

I tend to agree, but it's pretty funny that when USU wins a football championship they get rid of divisions and when USU wins a basketball championship they get rid of the unbalanced schedule.ProvoAggie wrote: ↑March 7th, 2024, 1:38 pmI actually prefer it this way. I get the argument that you can just get rid of say Southern Utah, San Diego, or St louis. But those easier games early on are sometimes pivotal to the development of any team. not just our brand new squad this year.

Wait... wasn't this announced a year ago. I thought it was a done deal for next year long ago.

Re: And There It Goes (Unbalanced Schedule)
So do you use this development to replace your two weakest OOC games, or your two strongest? In other words bolster your OOC SOS by taking on two Q1/2s, or bolster your NET by RUTSing two Q3/4s? This season replacing Bradley and USF (our best OOCs) with second games against UN and UNLV would have bolstered our SOS (and likely our NET too). Won't be the case every year, depending both on the strength of the MWC and who we can schedule.
I'd be pretty content to fill out a typical schedule by playing as good a MTE (3 games count as 1) as we can get into, 3 of WSU/UVU/SUU/UTU at home and one on the road each year, a top tier matchup with Big West, Big Sky and WCC teams, and one solid P6 on a netural court.

Nobody here knows anything.

This is correct. There's nothing to the timing of it and USU winning.

Re: And There It Goes (Unbalanced Schedule)
I love that they are going to the 20 game schedule. We struggle to get good teams to Logan so playing all the teams at home will be beneficial. I would rather this than schedule some 200+ NET team from back east that no cares about. I know teams like SDSU and UNLV won't like it but it the way to go in my opinion.

Now let’s get rid of unbalanced pay from the conference. I’m looking at you, boise.
