If it’s close to Dutch’s 2.3mil that would be worth like 4mil when adjusted for Seattle cost of living. Might be enough to get him to stay.

Gotta get that assistant salary pool, travel budget, and NIL up too though.
All this has been addressed as well!!! It’s up to Danny on what he really wants now
That’s great to hear. I feel like if Danny took a higher paying job it would be to get his assistants raises as much as himself. I feel that’s key.
Significant raises for assistants are also in the new pool of money. We are talking San Diego State level money…top of the conference type money. This has been coming together for the last 2-3 weeks.

He loves the place and loves the support. We are only lagging on the NIL front to bring in/retain the type of talent to help keep Sprinkle and take this to the next level. We are in a much better spot with NIL than we were a year ago, but still have work to do.

I posted this in the other thread, but I heard it’s $2M with incentives on top of that.

I don’t even think it’s about that though. In the old system this would’ve been amazing, but now it’s about having a massive NIL $ pot to be able to try to compete for the national championship. That’s why I think we lose him.
Yeah well he isn’t going to get that at Washington.
No joke, I heard from a guy close to Ashworth’s family (a big byu guy) that Washington offered Ashworth $600k NIL money.
And he chose Creighton so that he could win a national championship, right?

If danny signs an extension and says he's here to stay, I will donate $5,000 to NIL

Tell the AD so she can get it added to the contract.

Seriously, I have seen a bunch of fans saying they will donate if he stays. It’s all over social media and some here too. Somebody get this to the AD and make sure DS sees this.

That’s incredible. Dutch just signed and extension that will pay him $2.3mil per year. If we can pay in that ballpark, that is HUGE!

It's a big decision and with a major extension offer now on the table I'm sure it's not just Washington who's come calling hoping to get in and undercut Washington or before he signs that extension.

Also he probably has a lawyer looking it over, there could be further negotiations, lots of things. You don’t just sign a contract immediately

All you guys pledging donations when Danny stays better put your money where your mouths are. I’m confident sprinkle will be the coach here for a couple years.

I don’t make pledges without backing it up. I already give like $900/year, my $1000 pledge would be an additional one-time donation.

Even $1.7 is like $3mil in Seattle money. Not bad. I was hoping it would beat Dutch but I think 1.7 would still be the second highest in the conference. Alford is like 1.2.

As others have said, Sprinkle’s salary isn’t as important as him being able to retain his assistants and players. Paying players and assistants is just as important if not more.

If we're able to keep him from going to Washington, we should be able to keep him from DePaul. Ryan Odom if DePaul was open last year would have been a different story.

If Danny signs the extension I’ll put in $5k.
Is that enough to get the whole team to sign a jersey instead of the “autographed item” by 1 player??
Can I specify my funds are for basketball only?
I’d even throw in another $5K if the major players all stayed and the additional $5k could be directed to a proven top PG like Crieghton did specifically for Ashworth.

:wtf: is taking Danny and his agent so damn long to sign or at least verbally commit to the extension?????

:stirpot:
I heard Sabau is working with Ard on her extension today, then she'll get back with DS on his counteroffer tomorrow. We should hear by noon Tuesday that the deal is done.

Honestly, if I'm DS I'm going to tell DS thank you and that I'll review it and make a decision to sign when the season is over. He should also be telling Washington, Depaul or anyone else who calls to get to him when USU has been eliminated from play this year. To sign now with USU or anyone else would seem to take a lot of effort with the review, negotiations, legal, etc... Focus on finishing the season and know that you are loved here.

If DePaul calls, you say yes before they even give an amount.
