Danny Extension Offer

Post by sl7hk » March 9th, 2024, 9:31 pm

Post game Spencer said that Danny’s agent has a “jaw dropping” offer that is very competitive with his peers.

I didn't hear about the peers. But I did hear their Jaws dropped when they saw it. Scott G and Spencer.

Something to think about
Washington and probably Oregon State would love to have Sprinkle, but both schools are tough to rebuild, low energy crowds, and high cost of living.

I posted this in the other thread, but I heard it’s $2M with incentives on top of that.

I don’t even think it’s about that though. In the old system this would’ve been amazing, but now it’s about having a massive NIL $ pot to be able to try to compete for the national championship. That’s why I think we lose him.

I'd donate to NIL if I didn't think the coach and players would just leave next year anyway.

As I said in another thread this will be on par with what Alford and Dutcher earns. Plus a LARGER buyout.

What does Dutcher and Alford make? Google reports 2.3m for Dutcher and 1.1 for Alford. Those are two very different numbers, on par with Alford doesn’t keep Sprinkle here. On par with Dutcher may.

If it’s close to Dutch’s 2.3mil that would be worth like 4mil when adjusted for Seattle cost of living. Might be enough to get him to stay.

Gotta get that assistant salary pool, travel budget, and NIL up too though.

People always complain about our NIL situation, but no duh we aren’t going to donate when there’s a good chance our coach leaves with all the players. I’ve been saying for a while that there should be a fund of NIL money that is contingent on the player staying past the transfer portal window. The player can then see how much they will make if they stay, but they don’t get a dime before they are locked in.

That’s great to hear. I feel like if Danny took a higher paying job it would be to get his assistants raises as much as himself. I feel that’s key.

Seeing these pledges are amazing and sad all wrapped up. It represents hope that likely won’t materialize, but hope nonetheless.

I’m also grateful to the Hurd bringing it tonight knowing full well what’s likely to happen. Coaches leaving for a big payday should fund a few Hurd scholarships on their way out since the students helped create the payday opportunity. USU students have a profound impact on our home court advantage.

Add me to the $1,000 donations if Danny stays.

I lived in the Puget sound, and I don't think this is an accurate statement. All things applied with state income tax I didnt feel like it was more expensive to live in Washington. I think people forget if you want to go anywhere to the wasatch front you have to buy a lot in gas. Honestly, I felt like everything was pretty equal at the end of the day, and my days were more productive work-wise due to no snow stoppage.

The x-factor in our favor is the Hurd and homecourt advantage.

Yeah, this was an estimate I got off of bankrate.com but they don’t have enough data for Logan so I used Idaho Falls as my substitute. I think when you’re making millions you probably don’t worry about gas prices as much as the rest of us haha

I seriously doubt it. BYU fans are hyping up the NIL money offers he got to justify why he didn’t choose BYU.

My friend is a basketball agent and he said take a Pro basketball contract anywhere but the NBA and divide it by 2 and subtract 100k. I bet the NIL is similar

How about he do a favor for the university and sign the extension contract and up the buyout? Unless he’s already signed with Washington which would mean…
