Point play

Post by aggiesdidwhat » March 9th, 2024, 9:46 pm

Aggies, have we ever had a point guard this good when heading into an NCAA Tourney? I feel like PG is so important.

Random: did you all see the moves he was putting on them at the end of the game.... Wow!

Years ago, UConn won the NCAA tournament because they had Kemba Walker as PG.

Thank you Darius! He has come up clutch so many times this season. It’s been a pleasure watching him wear the Aggie uniform.

That spin move he put on House was awesome. Glad Martinez sealed it up with the clutch three.

Thank you for bringing this up. I thought it was the 2nd biggest play of the game. Seeing him lose house like that brought a huge smile to my face. Thank you Ian for finishing the play.

Guard play in general. Have guys that can play D, hit 3’s and get to hoop

there was one play where he was boxed in the corner in NM's end by two players. He went behind the back and go out then at US end I think House was on him at the 3point line, and he went behind the back again and left House lost AF. House was left with no choice but just to grab Brown and got his 4th foul.
When the TV went to commercial before the FT's I rewound and watched that sequence about 5 times.
@GameFAQSAggie , I know you're gonna post the clip. :)

Jared Quayle’s play was at an elite level going into the tournament his senior year. He straight up outplayed Marquette and absent Ricky taco officiating he’d have won that game. He was that good.

nope that's not the right time tag...
It must have been his 3rd foul? Or it wasn't a foul called, or someone else got the foul?

Found it 7:42 remaining - 1:06:50 in the youtube
it was Washington who fouled Brown.

Yeah, I think Quayle is the only one comparable. He didn't have all the last second shots of course but in the Marquette year he didn't have the opportunity before that game, and no question Marquette was a win without those last 2 phantom calls that kept Marquette close and fouled him out. He was a beast. Pretty sure he was really sick the other year he started in the Tourney and didn't play well.

I think him and Brown are pretty similar. Too unselfish at times but almost always the best player on the Court.
