Littlewood has the appropriate last name. He definitely is not an alumnus of Longwood.

Yup, glad it worked out. I also thought they missed the out of bounds off Baker. I didn't follow the call, but I saw a quick replay.

That was farther away from the rim than Queta's foot was from the baseline

I didn't see the free throw. That wasn't even close.

The funny thing was that the calls overall were bias in helping New Mexico.

Re: Official statement by the refs
Cost me my cover USU -3.5. Should have been our ball out of bounds where they would have fouled and we hit 2 foul pitches to cover. Major error.

Re: Official statement by the refs
I really thought that the ball had to hit the rim, so I was super confused when no whistles were blown. To find out that the refs thought it did hit the rim is wild.

Re: Official statement by the refs
What they meant to say is "we forgot that was the rule." But that sounds horrible, so instead they make up some (I can't express myself without swearing) about thinking it hit the rim.

All 3 of them thought it hit the rim? Ok

Re: Official statement by the refs
If you watch the last play, Littlewood (closest to NM Bench) isn't even watching the shot, the ref on the bottom starts to put his had up to blow his whistle then decides not to. That ball was no where near the rim and I'm still baffled at how none of those three clowns noticed. Littlewood is a joke of a ref.QuackAttackAggie wrote: ↑March 9th, 2024, 10:05 pmNeither did the refspilotaggie wrote:I didn't see the free throw.

Re: Official statement by the refs
Hopefully we don’t have this officiating crew again because 1) they weren’t good officials anyways. 2) Now they might feel like they have to make up for screwing up so bad and they could call a lopsided game against us

Littlewood wasn't supposed to watch the ball. He's watching the players for entering the key early or foulingfetchingaggiefan22 wrote:If you watch the last play, Littlewood (closest to NM Bench) isn't even watching the shot, the ref on the bottom starts to put his had up to blow his whistle then decides not to. Re: Official statement by the refs
What would have happened if NM would have made a last second shot, could they go back and review that? I know it didn't cost us anything but that was just awful.

Re: Official statement by the refs
I would think it is something they can review, especially in the last two minutes. They consistently review goaltending, three point shots and whether the ball hit the rim for a shot-clock violation during the normal portion of the game. I would think this would fall in the same category and would be an easy review. IMO, Petino should have asked for it to be reviewed so NM could have the chance to foul, hope we miss one and get a desperation 3.

Re: Official statement by the refs
Didn’t NM get what they wanted out of it. They were purposely trying to miss so they could get the rebound and a shot. They got a pretty clean one. Throwing the ball as hard as House did was not going to pop straight up in the air for a nice easy tip in. I don’t see how NM got screwed on this due to what they were trying to do.

Exactly, perfectly said. NM go what they wanted, USU got the raw deal.Usu0505 wrote: ↑March 10th, 2024, 5:29 pmDidn’t NM get what they wanted out of it. Those NM peeps saying they would have loved to had the chance to steal the ball on an out of bounds play, they are not truthful. If you really thought that, you would have made the second free throw, and tried to steal on the in bound play. But they didn't. They chose to miss the free throw. Which they did by two feet. Oops

Is this a case where there should have been an intentional lane violation by USU. Instead of what happened, lane violation until he makes it.

Re: Official statement by the refs
Before the FT attempts, a ref goes up and talks to House for a little bit, hiding his mouth. I’m positive he knew what House was thinking and was likely telling him that he needed to hit the rim. Then doesn’t make the call afterwards. I was baffled. I think the players were confused as well since they could all see it didn’t hit the rim. Horrible all the way around.

You can see Mason looking around at the refs and motioning with his hands as to why they didn't blow the whistle and let the play continue.scotlandog wrote: ↑March 10th, 2024, 8:50 pmBefore the FT attempts, a ref goes up and talks to House for a little bit, hiding his mouth. Interesting fact, I believe Littlewood was the head baseball coach at BYU up until last year when he resigned mid season. The other ref, DG Neilsen is the head baseball coach at SLCC.AggieFBObsession wrote: ↑March 9th, 2024, 9:48 pmLittlewood has the appropriate last name. He definitely is not an alumnus of Longwood.
