There is a tiny chance for something amazing to happen.

Post by Dwigt » March 17th, 2024, 10:41 pm

I know the chance of this is something around 0.0000001% to happen but there is the possibility for USU to play the following games.

First round against TCU
Second round against Montana State
Sweet Sixteen against Samford
Elite Eight against Creighton

It's amazing how much it's been joked we will play Montana State second game, or that TCU will when we look like we always do in the tourney, but given how Purdue will be more determined than ever to not let a loss to a 16 happen again, it's all the less likely us or TCU would play Montana State.

The Virginia Cavaliers won the national title the year after they lost to Ryan Odom's 16-seeded UMBC. Maybe that means Purdue is going to win the tournament this year.

I'm a reasonable man, get off my case.

That's some optimistic $hit right there my Aggie brother. Where do we meet Szymon and Longwood? In the title game?

All MWC final 4 with SDSU and USU in the championship. Aggies take it all.

Getting beat by 40 against Purdue would be special in my book, because it means we won a game! I give zero (I can't express myself without swearing) about anything other than winning ONE GODDAMN GAME.

I thought for the first 3/4 of the season that this was the team of destiny that would break the curse. the last 1/4 of the season has tested my faith, and I think this team feels more and more like all the other teams that lose in the first round. Losing Max A. was a killer from the perspective of defense and lineup versatility. Really sucks we didn't have him. I'm trying to keep the faith, but feel we lose in my heart of hearts.

I am glad I get to enjoy the spectacle of the entire First Four and First Round without a USU loss marring things. I don't watch the games unless Kansas is involved after the First and Second Rounds anyway, so I'll get my tourney fill before tasting the agony of USU defeat! Thankful for the late Friday tip!

Do you think our boys will come out and play with a chip or played checked out?

I think the team will play hard, but I ultimately think TCU is more talented and that will carry the day no matter what we do.
