If I remember correctly the Blue A Collective pays after the close of the portal. There is more danger in entering in the last few days without a landing spot already secured. A lot of the empty roster spots are starting to get filled, and there will a rush once a few schools stop returning calls.

I think you're onto something. Got to be a tough sell for a back up when you know the starter is going to play 35-40 min every game.

I think this signing makes a lot of sense. UNLV has enough dudes on the team with some flair and guys who want the ball in their hands. They need to add some guys that are willing to do little things out there, play a role, be a good locker room teammate, and don't need the ball in their hands at all. I think Whiting helps fit that for a piece to their puzzle.

Finally! A MWC player I covet. With Uduje already recommitted (and I'm sure no $$ to offer) perhaps there's not room for it - they play similar positions and roles. My guess is he is going to get paid somewhere and has it lined up already. I wonder if SDSU is in play? He is a guy that fits everything they do.

Yeah, sorry I wasn't clear on that. I was just assuming he is doing the "test NBA waters" thing with the intent he is returning for his last year.
