Jared was also Nick's basketball coach at Fairmont State.

Maybe the two had an arm wrestling match, and the winner got the job.

I'm not worried about it as long as the brother is qualified and good.

Whether or not he's qualified and good is what remains to be seen.

Huh. That's a definite head scratcher. I've never heard anything but glowing praise for Jimmy Stitz, and it seems like he's done a nice job. Perhaps he's leaving for another job?

Calhoun trusts his bro, and Calhoun is 242-144 as a head coach.

:wtf:

Not a good look. How come nepotism rules don't seem to apply to sports?

I sense a mobster theme with Calhoun hiring his consigliere on staff as well. I just hope Nick never gets his brother's kiss of death a la Fredo after a first round MW tourney loss.

Lebron trusts his son and has won four NBA titles. Do I want the Jazz to take his college benchwarmer son in the NBA draft? No.

In no way, shape or form does Calhoun's brother have close to the resume of Stitz.

But he hit 75% of his threes at the combine and his 1 step vert was 32".

Maybe the hiring of his brother is a positive sign that Calhoun plans to be in Logan for a long period of time?

He has worked with his brother for a number of years and won a ton of games with his brother.

Jimmy Stitz is the head strength and conditioning coach for all olympic sports for Utah State not just basketball and volleyball. I would assume that the administration and other coaches would have some impact on who the strength and conditioning coach will be.

Jimmy Stitz has ties to Minnesota. He went to Minnesota State and was born and raised in the area. My understanding is that going back to Minnesota has always been in the cards. I will call it now, Calhoun's brother will NOT be the next strength and conditioning coach. This is a hire that Sabau will be involved in and will work with multiple teams.

So it'll be someone from Ohio.
