Really good interview.

A couple of interesting tidbits

Hope to have a MTE in the next week.

Trying to get 4-5 potential quad 1 games ooc next year

Hope to have a transfer wing commit in the next 24 hours

Hoping to get a freshman forward commit

Last scholarship might be bpa

Eric Haut will work with the defense. Sounds like he will install a matchup zone for the defense. Be interesting to see how that goes.

Yeah I thought it was interesting that calhoun mentioned he had a hard time cracking it with his teams

I like teams that can play multiple defenses depending on the opponent. I thought last years team really missed not having a standard zone to use occasionally. The 1-3-1 was really hit or miss.

He mentioned going into it there was only 2 games already scheduled Alcorn and UTU. I could have swore that the Saint Louis was supposed to be a home/home. Does anyone know if they are going to come to Logan this year or in a future year?

I like teams that can play multiple defenses depending on the opponent. I thought last years team really missed not having a standard zone to use occasionally. The 1-3-1 was really hit or miss.

My thoughts as well. One thing about Stews teams success was being able to play multiple defenses and would change up things periodically in games. You do have to have a team that can and will play great man defense but have to be able to play different defenses and we never played anything besides that 1-3-1 and it wasn’t very good. Was good for us vs TCU but most of the season it wasn’t

Yeah I thought it was interesting that calhoun mentioned he had a hard time cracking it with his teams

He also mentioned that it would be different from what any other MW team runs which sounds like a good benefit.

St. Louis (at NET 197) would have been a Q4 home game last year. It would have been just below ETSU but better than San Diego.

Salt Lake, Idaho Falls, WCC games, maybe St. Louis, and early season tournaments can get those Q1/Q2 games.

This could explain why he doesn’t appear to be worried about the lack of bigs. Matchup zone will help reduce the fouls and mismatches in speed or size.
Also he mentioned Anderson being able to play multiple positions which to me sounded like he’ll play some forward despite his thin frame.

I thought that was the most interesting thing in the interview. Not sure what to think about that.
