We'll look back on this year fondly as the year the league got 6 in the tournament. We have 2 or 3 in going forward with 4 max.

Well the 5th place team in the big 12 lost to a sub 80 net team in the tournament today.

But that was not a MW team. BYU should have been so lucky as to play a MW team instead of Duquesne.Aggie84025 wrote: ↑March 21st, 2024, 5:48 pmWell the 5th place team in the big 12 lost to a sub 80 net team in the tournament today.

Better enjoy the 500k annually from tournament credits will get for next 6 years. Won’t get 6 in probably ever again.
Boy Nevada just blew the wind out of the sails and CSU is just atrocious

Because YBU is so athletic? BS. Colorado State is just not playing with composure.

Re: A55 hole anouncer Texas
The ball they play with in the ncaa tournament is different than what the league plays with the regular season. I’m told it is much grippier and definitely hurts shooting.

Re: A55 hole anouncer Texas
There has to be something more to this. I refuse to believe that the MWC CHOOSES to use a ball in the regular season that is different than the ball used in the NCAA tournament. Can anyone provide any proof that they are doing this by choice? There HAS to be more to this story.NVAggie wrote:Well, we should be playing with the NCAA tourney ball in the MWC.

Re: A55 hole anouncer Texas
It feels like this is discussed every year. What I remember is we play with a nike ball because of our Nike affiliation, CSU uses a different ball, wouldn’t be surprised if UNR uses a completely different ball. Then in the MWC tournament they use a certain ball.

Re: A55 hole anouncer Texas
The Rams are playing like they are using one of those rubber outdoor balls that is easy to grip when it's new, but now all the nodules have been worn off and it's as smooth and slick as a beach ball and the stitching is pulling apart a little and that inner rubber bladder is bulging out, which makes the ball wonky to dribble and shoot.

Re: A55 hole anouncer Texas
I know it sounds stupid to blame the MW’s lack of success on using a different ball and it has most likely not made a difference, but why the hell do ANYTHING that could potentially hurt your performance. I just don’t get it.Rawbirds wrote:It feels like this is discussed every year. Re: A55 hole anouncer Texas
The grip and feel of the ball definitely affects shooting. I think the evo ball is what they play with in the ncaa and that ball has far more grip than the other brands. If you’re not used to playing with it then it does take time to get used toFeartheFro wrote: ↑March 21st, 2024, 6:20 pmI know it sounds stupid to blame the MW’s lack of success on using a different ball and it has most likely not made a difference, but why the hell do ANYTHING that could potentially hurt your performance. So make an adjustment and start using the ball the only tournament that really matters uses!!!Chatman wrote:The grip and feel of the ball definitely affects shooting. Yeah they need to out figure the contract obligations out and make it happen.FeartheFro wrote:So make an adjustment and start using the ball the only tournament that really matters uses!!!Chatman wrote:The grip and feel of the ball definitely affects shooting. CSU cut it to six with the momentum and gave up back to back three point plays.

Re: A55 hole anouncer Texas
There's a long way to go. Still need to see UNM, SDSU and Utah State play. CSU didn't play with composure, and Nevada either in the lattter part of their game. It's not a good sign for the Aggies, but this doesn't mean the rest of the MWC can't win and compete.
Boise State wasn't going to win their game anyway. Their game is an exact reason why I don't think Rice is the best coach. Bad gameplan to get Deggenhart involved.

Re: A55 hole anouncer Texas
The MW signed a partnership with Shottracker to track the balls on the court. There are only a few options for balls that include the sensors. We use the Nike one...there is another ball with the sensors as well but neither are used in the NCAA Tourney.

We may not get six again but I could still see us getting three to four consistently as long as the resumes are deserving.SpectrumMagic wrote: ↑March 21st, 2024, 5:50 pmBetter enjoy the 500k annually from tournament credits will get for next 6 years. Won’t get 6 in probably ever again.
