It's Game Day - tighten up your dancing shoes!
Here's a spot for all the nervous banter leading up to tonight against TCU.
Do you think having a late day 2 tip helps or hurts our team?
I would think they could learn by watching Nevada and CSU flame out yesterday and the later time is better for western teams going east. Or is it moot and we already know what's going to happen?

I don't think the late tip helps or hurts the team. I just hope they come out and play loose. We have had bad starts in the last several tournament games. The last 2 we eventually clawed back and took the lead in the 2nd half only to falter down the stretch. Hopefully we can start off well and keep the momentum gong throughout the game.

I hope it helps the team get a faster start. They have had time to watch some games already. I would think would settle them down and make the lights not as bright compared to playing early the first day.Aggie84025 wrote: ↑March 22nd, 2024, 8:50 amI don't think the late tip helps or hurts the team. I'm hoping Mason can be aggressive and get into the paint often. Anyone know how the shoulder is doing?

Re: It's Game Day - tighten up your dancing shoes!
As an Aggie fan, I understand the desire for a win tonight. We have been so close to shaking off the post season letdown. I wasn't able to see the Aggies win in 2001. I found out about it a couple of weeks after the fact. I haven't ever tasted the sweet nectar of victory in the tournament as a diehard fan.
Even with that history, I will look back fondly on this past season. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect to be watching the Aggies compete in the tournament this year. We had two redshirt players and a walk-on holding down the fort. Coach Sprinkle and his staff put together a nice roster. The players put in the effort and gelled rapidly. We won the regular season MW Conference Championship outright (even though we didn't go to Lawlor). I don't think I have ever been so engaged in all of the MWC games. It has been a magical season, one to remember. Regardless of the outcome tonight, I will remember this season as a success.
We don't know what the world of NIL and free transfers will bring in the future. Sprinkle will likely leave. This season has been a success regardless of what happens tonight.

Re: It's Game Day - tighten up your dancing shoes!
There are several games this year I've seen for both VCU and USU that the team seems to refuse to go to the basket when it's clearly what the defense is giving. They settle for late shot clock jumpers. Martinez and Brown are consistently guilty of this. I like that Mason gets what he wants in the lane. It changes the momentum so quickly and effectively. Count me as one who hopes he's both healthy and can stay out of foul trouble.Oldmainblue wrote: ↑March 22nd, 2024, 9:03 amI'm hoping Mason can be aggressive and get into the paint often. When we rolled through OOC, I got really excited. The product on the floor certainly didn't reflect the preseason ranking. I'm stoked we followed through on that momentum to the end and finished it right.NVAggie wrote: ↑March 22nd, 2024, 9:11 amAs an Aggie fan, I understand the desire for a win tonight. This is the first season in 20 years I haven't seen a game in person, and it's been tough but so fun to watch from afar. It's nice to have a TV deal where I can see every game some how.
If we win tonight, you can blame the last 20 years postseason drought on me and thank me for moving cross country!

This is important. Be sure to get homes with older paint (pre-1978) checked before it becomes a health issue for your children and pets.

This is the year.
But like NVAggie referenced, I have the perspective to be happy with such a great season. I've enjoyed the ride. Tonight's win would be the gravy.

So, based on all the comments here it sounds like we're expecting a loss or at least preparing for one?

I don't, unless it happens with less than 10 seconds to play.

We could be grossly favored and I still couldn't bear the idea of hyping up for a win and then experiencing a gut-wrenching loss.Aggie in Boise wrote: ↑March 22nd, 2024, 10:05 amSo, based on all the comments here it sounds like we're expecting a loss or at least preparing for one?

I was at the games last night and I was really impressed with the McNeese State and Samford turnout. Does someone know how many Aggies will be at the game tonight?
