55 years

Post by Oldmainblue » March 22nd, 2024, 11:21 am

Duquesne broke a 55 year drought when they won yesterday. I think it'd been 47 years since they had even made the tournament.

I'm glad we've been in the tournament as much as we have these last 23 years. Not optimistic this year is the year for the win, but we have lots to be grateful for!

Begs the question -- would you rather be in frequently and lose in the first round? Or, be in less frequently but win a game or two when you make it?

The fact that they beat BYU makes that 55-year drought even sweeter. I LOVE Duquesne!!!

Be in frequently and lose in the first round for sure! If we are frequently making the dance it means we are having good seasons. I would take 4-5 good seasons over 4 bad seasons and 1 really good season. Fan support is so much better when you are consistently good. Casual fans are not turned off by 1st round losses in the Dance.

You know you've gone way too far when you offend @Hoot . However, Hoot has been eating a lot of Crow lately.

Someone should do "wins above expectation" or "score versus the betting line". It would take into account your seed and how much the betting odds thought your were going to win to assess whether you are overperforming or underperforming.

Speculating on someone’s participation in a strange aquatic sexual ritual based off only a picture is too trashy for me.

Also what crow are you talking about?

I believe the issue is Kynlee decided not to help her out and jump.

This post is likely straight up poor sarcasm and cannot be taken seriously.

Our drought before the 2001 win was 31 years. Let's get it done tonight!! Gotta say, it's been fun to enjoy the first two days of the tournament without yet having played.
