Re: Sprinkle to Washington
I guess it could be officially official on the coaching search. Be curious to see who Sabau takes. This will be her first big hire. Bovee hired Sprinkle.

Re: Sprinkle to Washington
MOU was signed before the MW Tourney.
This has been done for awhile. Sorry all.
Diana has a good list and money to fund it. There will be a lot of roster turnover but I am optimistic about the program going forward.

Bye Danny. Thanks for the regular season MWC championship and the NCAA tournament win. Enjoy the fan apathy and cross-country conference flights. At least they'll be chartered!

Thanks for the wonderful year Danny. It was an awesome year that was fun to watch. Thanks for bringing the tournament victory. That was awesome to see. That being said i wish you no success at Washington and hope you regret your decision in a few years. He obviously did not listen to Matt Painter's interview about coaches moving for money and then being miserable if the success does not follow.

Re: Sprinkle to Washington
Matt Painter left Southern Illinois of the MVC to go to Purdue several years ago after a NCAA tournament appearance. He was only the head coach there 1 year.Aggie84025 wrote: ↑March 25th, 2024, 10:38 amThanks for the wonderful year Danny. It was an awesome year that was fun to watch. He seems to have done fine for himself.
The only one that really annoys me was Craig Smith. Going to the University of Utah was a betrayal IMO, and big timing the school that provided him the jump was bush league.
Other than that, it was just business.

Fast? The agreement was already in place prior to ever even leaving for the tourney. I think the team knew it too, maybe not openly told so by DS himself but they knew enough to know this was it for him in Logan.OrangeCountyAggie wrote: ↑March 25th, 2024, 10:16 amThis happened so fast it really has me questioning his coaching performance in that Purdue game. Re: Sprinkle to Washington
Let’s just stop putting money into coaching salaries. No need to pay the next coach more than Sprinkle. Let’s put money into chartering flights, upgrading our facilities, and whatever else that is long term. There’s no point in throwing money away at coaches (or players for that matter) that are just going to leave.

It sucked that Craig left to Utah but at least he was here for 3 years. I hold no ill will against Danny just think that leaving after 1 year is not a great look. The year he gave us really memorable though.NowhereLandAggie wrote: ↑March 25th, 2024, 10:49 amMatt Painter left Southern Illinois of the MVC to go to Purdue several years ago after a NCAA tournament appearance. A 39 point loss makes a little more sense now. He hasn't looked all-in for a couple weeks now. Didn't look overly thrilled when USU won the MW season. I guess it's bittersweet leaving behind a good thing when you've surpassed all expectations.Aglicious wrote: ↑March 25th, 2024, 10:55 amFast? Mostly agree but maybe they pay a bit more of a premium for the highest buyout term available as that is the real number.Aggie84025 wrote: ↑March 25th, 2024, 11:03 amIt sucked that Craig left to Utah but at least he was here for 3 years. The other thing with Smith that doesn’t get talked about was him not retaining Spencer. Spencer may have been the guy we dream of having long term. Sprinkle and Washington might as well have announced this yesterday at the 10:00 minute mark in the first half because that's about when he stopped coaching Utah State.

Nevada had 4 seasons of Muss and just completed year 5 of Alford. Must be nice to only lose a coach every 4-5 years.

It's funny. You have to think the other successful MWC have to be thinking "why is USU so great at getting their coaches paid while I'm still stuck in bosie?"
