8 on 5 is tough!

Post by ryguy417 » March 24th, 2024, 1:30 pm

Hard to win when it’s 8 on 5. Need to create better looks, but the decks is certainly stacked. #homecooking!

Gotta make shots. 9/27 isn't going to upset the top ranked team.

Yup, exactly! They do need to take better shots though.

Not a big fan on how this one is called, but why didn't we call a timeout? Why if Burris taking early 3 pointers?

I think we've already fallen apart. We need to calm down, set up some plays, and try to claw back into the game. Right now we just want to get off the court. Feels a lot like the San Diego game at the tournament....

Burris??? The f*ck? Sure, let's run the offense so our worst player can jack up some 3's. WHAT ARE YOU DOING SPRINKLE???

Templin should not play another minute in this game

Honestly I was initially frustrated at the refs, but our offense was really really bad there while they went on a 16-0 run. Refs have missed a few calls but they aren’t the reason we are down big, hoping for a better second half.

Calm down and regroup for second half. Reestablish the game plan and play straight up against Edey.

Keep the rotations and ball movement better on offense.

When you box out Edey go up hard for the ball so we can get some fouls on him.

Burris taking 3s while Edey is on the bench is absolute coaching malpractice. That being said, we can’t stand next to Edey without getting called for a foul.

This is true but also half our team was in the bench during that run because of the early fouls.

That’s true as well, I felt like half the fouls were pretty soft.

Yeah really soft. Completely different than how the game was called on Friday.

Too bad the refs wanted to get more involved.

Game plan, “be aggressive”

“we can’t be aggressive”

Let’s have Burris chuck up some early 3s

Danny's biggest weakness is sitting starters long periods of time with 2 early fouls. I'd rather get blown out with my best guys playing even with foul trouble.

No, his biggest weakness is his teams not rebounding at a high enough level. Especially the offensive rebounds they give up.

Don’t worry about Edey. He will get some baskets. Just play straight up and only go for the steal if he dribbles. On offense, attack Edey with Great in the post and guards need to attack Edey in the transition back. If Edey gets some fouls and goes out, we need every possession to go through Great, not early 3 shots by Burris or Templin.

It truly is maddening. But hey, Johnson will be fresh, roaring to go, and only have 2 fouls in the second half when we are down by 25! Glad he saved him.

I’m sorry but it isn’t just our fans that think the refs have been bad. These refs are trending on Twitter right now for being so bad. It’s not just our fans tweeting about it.

I think the refs have been fine. Sometimes other teams are just better.

The fu?

We're getting smacked around, for sure and were always very likely going to lose, but the refs have absolutely not been fine. It's ok to admit that.

Did the refs slap the arms of Purdue? Did the refs have USU chuck up low percentage 3's?

Did the refs make Danny take the players out?

The refs might be giving Purdue 6 points, not 20 though

The only thing more annoying than complaining about refs when they don't suck is defending them when they do suck. Get off their jock, they aren't calling you back for a second date either way.
