Re: Good News
I can’t wait to see how a cheesy mantra like this goes over at Washington with a roster of guys there to just to get paid NIL $, an arena half full of lifeless fans, and an impatient pressure laden Athletic Department with no sense of humor.
Who knows, maybe it’ll go really well.

Re: Good News
I honestly feel he will try to do the exact same thing at Washington….
Bring in former players say how important it is to be a husky….
And the former Aggies on the team will roll their eyes.
He was able to say that here, but after 3 schools in 3 years, not hard to dismiss what he is selling.

Re: Good News
I made a similar post in another thread, but I am trying to imagine a crowd of adoring Washington fans waiting for Sprink and team as they arrive back from getting 40-pieced in the NCAA tourney. I am having a hard time seeing it.Roy McAvoy wrote: ↑March 24th, 2024, 11:09 pmI can’t wait to see how a cheesy mantra like this goes over at Washington with a roster of guys there to just to get paid NIL $, an arena half full of lifeless fans, and an impatient pressure laden Athletic Department with no sense of humor.

One thing that has not been pointed out — he saw today the best the B1G has to offer and his plan is to take the same players that just got 40-pieced and try to compete there? Again, I am having a hard time seeing it.

Re: Good News
I was disappointed when he asked Brown and Osobor to come with him to Utah State. I thought Big Sky players could not compete in the MWC. I was obviously wrong, and I'm sure he'll be able to recruit some skilled players wherever needed.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑March 24th, 2024, 11:24 pmI made a similar post in another thread, but I am trying to imagine a crowd of adoring Washington fans waiting for Sprink and team as they arrive back from getting 40-pieced in the NCAA tourney. If he does well at Washington, where would he go next? UCLA or USC?

If today’s result is an indicator, a jump from the top of the Big Sky to the top of the MW is much less of a jump than the top of the MW to the top of the Big Ten.travelingagg wrote: ↑March 24th, 2024, 11:31 pmI was disappointed when he asked Brown and Osobor to come with him to Utah State. Re: Good News
I question whether he will even do well at Washington. Have fun competing with the likes of Purdue, Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan St, etc. on a nightly basis. Hopefully for his sake it isn't a 2-3 year mediocre run. Otherwise, I'm afraid come 2027 he'll be the head coach of Middle Tennessee or Abilene Christian.

I don't know. It normally doesn't bode well for P5 coaches that are fired after a few years of mediocrity.bluegrouse wrote: ↑March 25th, 2024, 12:25 amWith $19M in the bank, I doubt he’ll be coaching at Abilene Christian

If I’m fired and have $19M in the bank at 52 years old, I’m sipping something on the beach and not too worried about getting another coaching gig.McTdawg wrote: ↑March 25th, 2024, 12:29 amI don't know. Re: Good News
I do think I should add that there are other schools, but they are mostly mid to low majors where a crowd would show up after a 40 point loss in the second round cause of excitement over the first round win like us. But schools like Washington, I can agree it would not happen there.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑March 24th, 2024, 11:24 pmI made a similar post in another thread, but I am trying to imagine a crowd of adoring Washington fans waiting for Sprink and team as they arrive back from getting 40-pieced in the NCAA tourney. I’m 100% sure Danny thinks he can do both and I’m pretty sure he can too. At the very least, it’s a $19M risk I would be willing to take.Dkdavis wrote: ↑March 25th, 2024, 2:50 amPurdues coach seems to think contrary… it’s more fun to win than to have money.bluegrouse wrote: ↑March 25th, 2024, 12:52 amIf I’m fired and have $19M in the bank at 52 years old, I’m sipping something on the beach and not too worried about getting another coaching gig.McTdawg wrote: ↑March 25th, 2024, 12:29 amI don't know. Re: Good News
By my dumb dumb math this one year of Danny Sprinkle will get us 3 million from the buyout and another nearly 2 million spread out over the next 6 years. (300k a year)
Hopefully Gloria is working the phones to get Grand Canyon, Gonzaga, and maybe even the Pac 2 added as Olympic only schools at the very least. And then leveraging this year into a stronger TV Deal.

Dudes making $3.7 million a year plus bonuses. Painter was at Southern Illinois for a couple of years, then left to be an assistant at Purdue and take over the next year when Gene Keady retired.ProvoAggie wrote: ↑March 25th, 2024, 8:11 amDudes making $3.7 million a year plus bonuses. Washington has one of the best guards in the nation signed. They are invested in Sprinkle, they will go hard in the Portal and flash a lot of money around. Great and Ian are the only current Aggies I think he takes.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑March 24th, 2024, 11:24 pmI made a similar post in another thread, but I am trying to imagine a crowd of adoring Washington fans waiting for Sprink and team as they arrive back from getting 40-pieced in the NCAA tourney.
