This guy fits the profile. I like him. Also a little older, which could be better for retention.

Re: Ted Kowlzyck
Never made the NCAA tournament, and has always lost in the first round of the NIT, but some of that is being in a (typically) 1 bid league.
Dude wins games though.

Re: Ted Kowlzyck
20+ years coaching and 0 NCAA appearances? Yeah he might stick around for a while but that is a big red flag. Just hire Tod Simon if we are looking for a "stick around for a while" guy.

Re: Ted Kowlzyck
I have read through this thread a couple of times... trying to figure out how it relates to Aggie Football? I guess we did play Toledo in the Potato Bowl a few years back.

Re: Ted Kowlzyck
We already have a thread on this guy. His name is Tod.
What's interesting is that a June 2023 news article from the Toledo Blade about Tod stated:
The article is titled: UT's Kowalczyk: 'This is home and will always be home'
According to the article, Tod makes just under $550,000 a year.

This is interesting because John (not Josh) Hartwell left in 2022. I guess they meant Bovee. This is the second time this offseason that Kowalczyk’s name has been closely linked with another head coaching job. In April, he pulled his name out of consideration at Utah State, where he was reportedly high on the list of athletic director Josh Hartwell.

BUT doesn't win big games. It would be like hiring Stew again. I wouldn't be thrilled.3rdGenAggie wrote: ↑March 25th, 2024, 10:36 amNever made the NCAA tournament, and has always lost in the first round of the NIT, but some of that is being in a (typically) 1 bid league.

Re: Ted Kowlzyck
I’d rather win the regular season conference title or the conference championship, and get an NCAA Tournament bid, and possibly win a first game in the tournament, and lose our HC every 1-2 years than “settle for a safe hire.”
