Sprinkle press conference at UW
Danny Sprinkle press conference at UW was nice.
Very complimentary to Aggie Nation, called Logan a special place, but ultimately UW is in his blood and while his agent was getting lots of calls, UW was the one place that was different for him.
Said he let his agent handle everything in terms of the conversations he insisted on being 100 percent focused on the season.
When asked about assistants he mentioned Andy Hill is currently the mix for head coach at Utah State and other than that he'd be evaluating and building his staff.
RaeQuan Battle was at the press conference and that was kind of neat, he got called out. As Danny has said before, RaeQuan is like a son to him.
Something I hadn't heard before but was a neat moment, Danny talked about how five years ago today he was living in a one-bedroom apartment in California, so these past five years have been like a whirlwind, he dreamed about winning championships at Montana State, never expected to end up at Utah State, but all of that has prepared him for his dream of coaching at UW and winning championships there.

Re: Sprinkle press conference at UW
I'm not crazy about how some of this stuff went down (clearly moving toward the UW job in at least February), but I do think Sprinkle is genuine. Ever since the rumors really started catching fire I've believed that UW was one of just a few jobs he'd leave for after 1 year at USU due to his history there.
It's his dad's alma mater. He likely grew up cheering for them. His sister lives in Seattle.
Hate that he left so quickly, but that's the game. As long as we can hire a good coach to replace him, Washington basically just paid USU $2 million to have Sprinkle lead us to a MWC Regular Season title and the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

There are indeed photos of him as a child wearing a UW jersey circulating around.
One other tidbit he shared, he would leave Montana State or Utah State football games early to go watch UW football. He is clearly a big Huskies fan.

Re: Sprinkle press conference at UW
Good for him. He came to USU and gave USU one of our best seasons ever and Washington had to pay us for it. Meanwhile nux from mad Max fury road went to a hated rival and can't even make the tournament.

Yep, the title of this thread was so confusing and difficult to understand, all those who don't care were tricked and manipulated into reading this diarrhea.

Damage control for an awesome season? We got paid around 1.9 million to have an incredible season. I'll take it. Now we just need to hire a great coach and keep the momentum going

Re: Sprinkle press conference at UW
Actually none. Something I respect about Sprinkle is he is authentic in all the ways that Powder is not. Powder's press conference at Utah was basically a cutcopy from his at USU.
*stealing Powder name I saw someone else using, it made me laugh bigly

Again, glad he acknowledged us unlike others in the past. (Odom cough cough) but there definitely was some damage control.
Wish him successful seasons in the NIT and that he finds someone to make his posterity with so they can enjoy the money he got as well

Re: Sprinkle press conference at UW
Honestly, good for Sprinkle. I think he was genuinely fond of Utah state and would have stayed here for a while. But this is his dream job, he got paid a huge starting salary, with potential for more if he does well. He has as big of a budget as anyone for NIL. He’s basically been given the opportunity to play the game with cheat codes. No hard feelings from me- best of luck Danny, thanks for the memories!

Why was there an empty chair by the coach? Is there more damage control needed?Aggie formerly in Hawaii wrote: ↑March 27th, 2024, 5:13 pmDamage control for an awesome season? Pretty sure this was normal for the interviews. I remember there being a space between the TCU coach and their playersBlue Sage wrote:Why was there an empty chair by the coach? We paid him 0.9 million for his first season.
