He gave a hint in another thread. I’d assume the hint was Henderson

I sure hope you are right. Neither one of these move the needle much.
Can you give us a hint?

Re: Press Conference Tuesday
The hint he gave in another thread was South Dakota State's coach. But that was just as likely another test leak like the others we have had.

And that could've been just another test leak. Maybe Diana knows now that she can trust whoever she has told that it's the Eastern Washington guy cause that hasn't been posted.slcagg wrote: ↑March 28th, 2024, 10:15 pmHe gave a hint in another thread. I’d assume the hint was Henderson

Re: Press Conference Tuesday
So is there still going to be a press conference on Tuesday or is that also in limbo now?
Sounds to me like there's either been a lot of smoke screens around the athletic department, OR everyone is right and we almost hired TS and it fell through, then we almost hired TK and it fell through so we're moving down the list of prospects until there's a match.

And we were also told that Diana knew Sprinkle was leaving for weeks and wanted to "act quickly" to name a replacement. Wonder what's going on.Aggieforlife wrote: ↑March 29th, 2024, 7:45 amI was told they were still shooting for a press conference on Tuesdaythrashsoundly wrote: ↑March 29th, 2024, 7:31 amSo is there still going to be a press conference on Tuesday or is that also in limbo now?

Re: Press Conference Tuesday
There are no smoke screens from the AD other than being very good at keeping the coaches being talked to extremely private.
All of the noise is coming from insiders and people who may think that they have an insight. The pressure from on of these people to be the first to break it is part of their value to others and/or sometimes livelihoods. They have all been off or jumped the gun before the search process is down to one finalist.
I know “people in the room” and know that things are going well, we have talked to many really good coaches, and the end is very close. I have no names are insights. However, I do know where we are at in the process.
Breathe…we will know soon.

My guess. After the UW announcement, more coaches entered into the ring.

Tuesday would seem reasonable to me, just about a week from when sprinkle leftAggie702 wrote: ↑March 29th, 2024, 7:49 amAnd we were also told that Diana knew Sprinkle was leaving for weeks and wanted to "act quickly" to name a replacement. Re: Press Conference Tuesday
I mean, if it’s truly announced on Tuesday that’s only 8 days since Sprinkle officially left. And it would’ve been Monday were it not for the holiday weekend. I wouldn’t consider that too long of a process.Aggie702 wrote: ↑March 29th, 2024, 7:49 amAnd we were also told that Diana knew Sprinkle was leaving for weeks and wanted to "act quickly" to name a replacement. Re: Press Conference Tuesday
I’d be willing to bet that the most disruptive noise is coming from agents trying to get their guy’s name out there for recognition, leverage, pressure, etc.IdAggie wrote: ↑March 29th, 2024, 7:50 amThere are no smoke screens from the AD other than being very good at keeping the coaches being talked to extremely private.

Not a fair comparison. Washington took 2 weeks from their last game

Re: Press Conference Tuesday
Hiring a coach within a week of the former coach officially leaving seems about right. We all would like it to be faster but i would rather Diana take a few extra days and hire who is going to be the best fit rather than just fill it as quickly as possible.Aggieforlife wrote: ↑March 29th, 2024, 7:51 amTuesday would seem reasonable to me, just about a week from when sprinkle leftAggie702 wrote: ↑March 29th, 2024, 7:49 amAnd we were also told that Diana knew Sprinkle was leaving for weeks and wanted to "act quickly" to name a replacement. Yep and as Danny mentioned his agent already had the deal in place as soon as the Aggies season ended.

And when Danny was flirting with Washington in December, we should have had our guy all lined up then too.

The deal with Washington still could have fallen apart. Coaches with options arent going to commit until there is an actual opening.

Re: Press Conference Tuesday
How the heck hasn't Matt Langel gotten a bigger job yet?
He's won the Patriot league 6 years in a row. And won the conference tournament 5 years in a row (probably would've in 2020 as well but COVID). His salary is just under $500k.

Assuming the press conference is on Tuesday and the announcement comes this weekend, then we'll be on our 4th consecutive Easter weekend hire.
Is this the special sauce for success?*
*Note Tim Duryea was not an Easter hire.

Something must have changed just prior to the signing. Like how the founding fathers had to put off the signing of the Declaration of Independence until August 2nd because John Hancock's first attempt looked like "Joan" so he wanted another try.TrueAggieman wrote: ↑March 29th, 2024, 12:56 pmSo what the hell was this tweet/100% sure announcement?
