I'm done speculating. There is so much garbage out there from people I deem credible, the only person I would trust at this point would be Diana Sabau and even then I might ask to see the contract in her hand.

I've been comparing notes on Twitter with @aggies22 and I'm just baffled by the whole thing. I think a lot of the stuff with Goodman can be attributed to some of our players who had lunch with Tod K, but other than that, the playing field has been flooded with a lot of bad information.

I will say it is a little comical for a representative in the athletic department to say the rumors aren't helpful, because I got news for them that the rumors are coming from inside the house.

I wonder if after it leaked Tod was gonna be the guy one of our top 1-2 choices who wasn’t ready to sign on the dotted line reached back out, similarly to Sprinkle last year

Press conference was just moved back until after the final four... all the coaches we were interviewing pulled their names out after Scotty closed the search earlier today by backing the Goodman tweet... Then proceeded to chastise those spreading rumors.

I understand Sprinkle not wanting to be a part of an organization that bullies and manipulates its employees. As much as I love the Aggies, I really don’t like tyrant admins that have to be the biggest ego in the room.

Who says they’re lying? It’s possible they interviewed everyone and their favorite candidate who was willing to sign a contract was Tod. It leaked to Goodman, and someone they may have preferred called them back up and said “ok I’ll sign let’s do it”

What has the admin lied about? She's kept the hiring process very confidential and sources have grabbed on to every crumb that they've been able to get. No one in the AD has said that the coach has been hired. They've just been interviewing candidates and trying to figure things out. As has been said many times before though, things change rapidly which is likely why the AD isn't giving us all a play by play of what's happening behind the scenes. Not sure what all has happened today but I'm sure it's been hectic. Diana was supposed to be on Scotty's radio show earlier to talk about the process a bit and had to cancel last minute and move it to tomorrow. Maybe they thought it was closer to being finished? Maybe another opportunity popped up that they didn't know about? Who knows at this point.

So TK was on campus and met with the players? I assume other top candidates did the same thing?

Both Simon and Kowalczyk have their strengths as the next Utah State coach. I’d go with Simon with Utah region ties, but Kowalczyk is better than some Aggie fans think. The wild range of rumors — either intentional head fakes, leaking, deception or just real clumsy recruiting/hiring. I’m guessing it’s the former.

Well, a lot of people have said a lot of things… people who only say things when they are told them by people they trust.

I am more concerned about the sources who are leaking questionable information to people who trust them to provide good information than about the people who share that information with us.

If this is a ploy to out leakers, hope they do and we can get back to trusting the people who are willing to share with us.

I would bet money that Sprinkle's agent was the one who first leaked the news that Washington was interested in him. That led to Sabau giving him a fat extension offer and Washington giving him an even fatter offer. I think it is less likely that Sabau is "plugging leaks" than it is that some agents are trying to convince some USU insiders that their guy is the guy.

Agreed. Agents are terrible people. They have messed up sports big time. NOTHING that an agent does would surprise me.
