A National Championship

Calhoun literally feels like if this group of kids runs it back, they can win a national championship!

Great stuff.

I wish he would have elaborated a little more about what he likes about USU, the players, the spectrum and the Hurd.

As always, I reserve my spot on the wait-and-see train. Keep some players, build a solid team, and win games.

The fact the whole team showed up says something at least and it’s not bad. My hopes are getting higher. Let’s find a way to pay these players for one year. Someone in CV has the money.

Maybe they showed up because their NIL contract required it?

The national championship comment actually makes me wonder if he will be a straight shooter. I get that he has to publicly recruit guys but he has no experience in this kind of conference and this team, without a few significant upgrades, does not compete for the MWC championship next year.

Well, we won it outright last year and we are for sure losing:
1 - Darius Brown, II (huge loss)
2 - Landon Brenchley (not huge loss)

If we return the rest of the meaningful contributors and find a way to replace Brown, we should definitely be able to compete for the MWC championship next year.

Retaining Wynott and Hill's commitments would be a big step forward, but we need a solid PG in bad way.

Yep, if we can keep the team intact we will be returning 4/5 starters including the MW player of the year. Add a few good pieces and there is no reason to believe we can't win the MW again.

What would you want him to say that his goal is to be in the top 3-4 of the conference each year? The Aztecs have shown a blueprint to compete and go far in the NCAAT. There is no reason that the Aggies cannot compete on a national level (NCAAT) each year and make a run occasionally.

What we need to go find some random 7’3”+ and 300+lbs kid and then we will get all the calls in the world. Easy path to a national championship. Forget the PG we just need that.

Would I pick USU to win the national title next year? Of course not, but is it out of the realm of possibility they make a deep tournament run? Also no. If everyone returns from a team that went to the second round this past season and they have some good transfers come in, we'll be in a very good position. George Mason, VCU, Loyola Chicago, FAU and SDSU have made recent final fours(not to even throw in Gonzaga and Butler). Why not us?

One good thing is that Edey the foul magnet is gone so the biggest tournament hurdle is out of the way.

He earned every call against you. I read all of the crying you guys did because we have an opposing message board comments thread after every win. What was it like to know somewhere deep down that painter could have easily made it to 120 points?

Go suck Edey off on another Message board. We’re too busy planning our national championship for next year. When the refs swallow the whistle and keep clingan in yall will be a very deserving 2nd place roster

You guys are in the final four and your second round opponent is living rent free in your head. Sad.

I'm legit excited for Edey vs Clingan....assuming you guys don't blow it against NC state.

What the (I can't express myself without swearing)? Must be one depressed individual to have to go back to an opposing team's message board over a full week later when their team is preparing for the final 4. I want to laugh but honestly it's just too depressing. Almost feel sorry for this individual.

And if there is a god, they’ll lose to a double digit seed for a 3rd straight year.

Dude is a bonafide, real-life ogre because he's got a metabolic disorder. You're exploiting him. Also, how the (I can't express myself without swearing) does a Big 10 team swimming in money get more mediocre? How does it lose to 15 and 16 seeds from conferences nobody ever heard of? You're the beneficiaries of a once-in-a-lifetime ogre. One bad weekend when the villagers get superstitious and get out the pitchforks is all it's going to take, and you'll all be Lilliputians again. Now get off our board.

I was also confused when he said something on the lines of
“I became a fan of this team 2 years ago” (A team that famously returned 0 points)

What we need to go find some random 7’3”+ and 300+lbs kid and then we will get all the calls in the world. Easy path to a national championship. Forget the PG we just need that.
He earned every call against you. I read all of the crying you guys did because we have an opposing message board comments thread after every win. What was it like to know somewhere deep down that painter could have easily made it to 120 points?
Thanks for asking, we were so happy to be there. Something we have dreamed about for a very very long time! I admit I was in 7th heaven. I liked Coach Painter seemed like a classy guy. BTW where is Purdue anyway?
You know, you didn’t answer my previous question. I was wondering about Purdue's location because I wanted to know where you are planning to get your Aggie ice cream from. Also, be careful. You know, there was a troll on here not long ago studying how his trollish actions affected the board. You may end up as part of his troll study, but somehow, I think you already knew that, didn’t you? I mean, is that really you, Aggieicecream? Have you come back for some more blue mint? I get it; it’s hard to resist.
