Re: USU Transfer Portal Tracker
Great. I'd rather clear out the rest of the roster as soon as possible (save Fish) and get to work building a team of players who want to be here and can help us win a championship.

New year. Same task.
Hope we mine the portal as good as we did last year.
Fish has never been one of my favorite players but I’m liking him more and more for some reason.

Re: USU Transfer Portal Tracker
Calhoun said he spent 1.5 hours on the phone with sprinkle. He probably got an idea from sprinkle who was good enough to play for him

Re: USU Transfer Portal Tracker
A guy that USU sent tons of love to as a HS player, stuck with him through a mission, and has Aggie family ties. Hasn't played a minute but enters the portal?
I have to believe some of these were either Sprinkle advising Calhoun to move on from them or else these players are not buying what this coach is selling during initial interviews. I really hope it's not the former.
Maybe in Dallin's case he realized last year that the MWC is beyond the level he can compete at?

Re: USU Transfer Portal Tracker
This one is weird just because his family has so many ties to the Aggie program. Seems like he was injured most of the season with his wrist. Has to be a little nerve racking for him knowing it has been 3 years since he has played, i can't imagine teams will be lining up for Dallin but hopefully he finds a good spot. If i were in his shoes i would play this year and try and compete and least get some tape on film at the college level before jumping in.Aglicious wrote: ↑April 3rd, 2024, 6:56 pmA guy that USU sent tons of love to as a HS player, stuck with him through a mission, and has Aggie family ties. Re: USU Transfer Portal Tracker
He had offers from Stanford and BYU out of high school but I doubt they are lining up for him now. I wish we would have got to see him play. Maybe he’s bound for hometown SUU or down the road to Utah Tech. Idk?Aggie84025 wrote:This one is weird just because his family has so many ties to the Aggie program. Re: USU Transfer Portal Tracker
About the only thing that makes sense on Dallin is that he was counseled out or just wanted to pursue a more clear path to playing time elsewhere. Wish him well either way.

Re: USU Transfer Portal Tracker
Dallin was a preferred walk-on. He was not on scholarship and Ian was the last scholarship player we brought in. New coach comes in and can’t promise him anything and so he is now looking to an SUU, UT Tech, etc. to play ball and get his schooling paid for. Can’t blame him for leaving and hope he gets his opportunity.ineptimusprime wrote: ↑April 3rd, 2024, 8:08 pmAbout the only thing that makes sense on Dallin is that he was counseled out or just wanted to pursue a more clear path to playing time elsewhere. I heard Sprinkle wasn’t going to bring back Phelps if he’d stayed. Apparently can’t shoot.

If this is true, then we only had 12 scholarship players this year, since we have heard that Javon was a walk-on.Aggie37 wrote: ↑April 3rd, 2024, 8:20 pmDallin was a preferred walk-on. Re: USU Transfer Portal Tracker
I mean if you watched Phelps in pre-game warmups all season it was painfully obvious that he has absolutely no outside shot at this point. Form wasn't great, ball never looked like it was going in, just ugly. It was also obvious he is super athletic though, if he sticks around hopefully we can help him develop.hipsterdoofus21 wrote: ↑April 3rd, 2024, 8:44 pmSounds like you heard the same Intelbrian5562 wrote: ↑April 3rd, 2024, 8:39 pmIt's funny we all have our favorites in life.
