Re: Karson Templin
Great news, Karson is for sure raw but has a huge motor. His play was sporadic last year but the experience he gained was invaluable. Going from high school to D1 basketball as a true freshman is very difficult. Excited to see how develops over the off season.

I saw him once in Walmart and he was taller than I thought he'd be so I'm also glad he's staying.

Re: Karson Templin
Hell yeah! Karson has a motor and should develop into a key bench player brining toughness and energy with upside

Happy to hear he’s returning! He’s got plenty of potential, just needs to learn how play in control.

Don’t limit him by calling him a bench player.SpectrumMagic wrote: ↑April 4th, 2024, 12:29 pmHell yeah! Karson has a motor and should develop into a key bench player brining toughness and energy with upside

Re: Karson Templin
Agreed. He has all the physical tool and the effort/motor. He is young and I expect the game to slow down for him a lot this offseason with good coaching.cval wrote: ↑April 4th, 2024, 12:37 pmDon’t limit him by calling him a bench player.SpectrumMagic wrote: ↑April 4th, 2024, 12:29 pmHell yeah! Re: Karson Templin
I've heard that he will be working all summer with a shooting coach to add some range to his game. It worked for Justin Bean.

Thank you for the quality insight as always 22! Excited to see Templins progression and development, he has the ability to become a great player imo.aggies22 wrote:I've heard that he will be working all summer with a shooting coach to add some range to his game. It worked for Justin Bean.

Re: Karson Templin
i talked to Sam's father in law, and he said that Sam would go to a shooting coach to get better. maybe that's what we need on staff, a shooting coach???

Am I reading too much into Falslev commenting on the post "The Committed Blond one"?
You insulted my choice of beverage. As host and provider, I was offended by this.

Re: Karson Templin
Definitely not limiting him at all. His floor next year is a key bench piece with definite upside for more.cval wrote: ↑April 4th, 2024, 12:37 pmDon’t limit him by calling him a bench player.SpectrumMagic wrote: ↑April 4th, 2024, 12:29 pmHell yeah! Re: Karson Templin
Karson took a pretty good beating by the CBS broadcasting team during the Purdue game. Hopefully he works hard and comes back with more polish and the game slows down for him.

Re: Karson Templin
I personally think things are going to turn out alright. Everything is supply and demand. These big schools with a lot of money are going to shoot their wad leaving a bunch of really good players looking for a competitive team to play for. Templin and Johnson are not Great and Brown, but it’s a start. Add Mason and I’m feeling pretty good about things. I’m confident we can find players that are not demanding the big NIL dollars to put together a pretty good group. The one thing I will not forget is we have the Spectrum and the Hurd, neither of which are entering the portal.

Re: Karson Templin
Templin is more talented than Osobor.
Before we get into another Shulga vs Anthony type of debate, Templin was a young freshman like Shulga, so Templin is early in his development of his game.

This is exactly what was said when I talked about Shulga being better than Marco Anthony.ratofallaggies wrote: ↑April 4th, 2024, 1:06 pmDon't do this... You never would have even come close to thinking this if GO wasn't in the portal.
Shulga was 2024 1st team A-10 with another season left to play.

I’m glad he’s back but why would he leave in the first place? I doubt teams are lining up to sign him.

Re: Karson Templin
I think this is the new reality in the portal area - declarations of portaling or staying every season. Especially with coaching changes.

Re: Karson Templin
I think you would be shocked at how highly other schools covet a lot of our players. Both hoops and football.

Re: Karson Templin
I think he cracks the starting lineup this year. He is the type of player who will work his butt off this offseason and will surprise us all. I’m in SLB’s boat that he may have more upside than people think.

That can't be right. I was told that basketball stars at Utah State would all be mere role players at "P5's"
