Great news, Karson is for sure raw but has a huge motor. His play was sporadic last year but the experience he gained was invaluable. Going from high school to D1 basketball as a true freshman is very difficult. Excited to see how develops over the off season.

I saw him once in Walmart and he was taller than I thought he'd be so I'm also glad he's staying.

Happy to hear he’s returning! He’s got plenty of potential, just needs to learn how play in control.

Agreed. He has all the physical tool and the effort/motor. He is young and I expect the game to slow down for him a lot this offseason with good coaching.

I've heard that he will be working all summer with a shooting coach to add some range to his game. It worked for Justin Bean.

Thank you for the quality insight as always 22! Excited to see Templins progression and development, he has the ability to become a great player imo.

i talked to Sam's father in law, and he said that Sam would go to a shooting coach to get better. maybe that's what we need on staff, a shooting coach???

Definitely not limiting him at all. His floor next year is a key bench piece with definite upside for more.

Karson took a pretty good beating by the CBS broadcasting team during the Purdue game. Hopefully he works hard and comes back with more polish and the game slows down for him.

I personally think things are going to turn out alright. Everything is supply and demand. These big schools with a lot of money are going to shoot their wad leaving a bunch of really good players looking for a competitive team to play for. Templin and Johnson are not Great and Brown, but it’s a start. Add Mason and I’m feeling pretty good about things. I’m confident we can find players that are not demanding the big NIL dollars to put together a pretty good group. The one thing I will not forget is we have the Spectrum and the Hurd, neither of which are entering the portal.

Templin is more talented than Osobor.
Before we get into another Shulga vs Anthony type of debate, Templin was a young freshman like Shulga, so Templin is early in his development of his game.

This is exactly what was said when I talked about Shulga being better than Marco Anthony.
Shulga was 2024 1st team A-10 with another season left to play.

I think this is the new reality in the portal area - declarations of portaling or staying every season. Especially with coaching changes.

I think he cracks the starting lineup this year. He is the type of player who will work his butt off this offseason and will surprise us all. I’m in SLB’s boat that he may have more upside than people think.

That can't be right. I was told that basketball stars at Utah State would all be mere role players at "P5's"
