Re: Current State of USU Basketball
Huh. It seems we have quite the juxtaposition between SLB and our new head coach. Which one are we to trust??
It seems our new head coach didn’t even deem Barnes worth a walk-on spot.

Re: Current State of USU Basketball
This will be the last year of COVID year players. It would be nice if we could stash some of this players somewhere in hopes that they will come back next year. Next year the number of available players won't be that great.

I don’t know how this stuff works any more but if a kid signs with us, don’t we have an obligation to take him for at least a year? If not, what’s the purpose of any signing?
Conversely, can a kid that signs with us de-commit for any reason before he gets here (I understand if there’s a coaching change)?

Re: Current State of USU Basketball
I would get out on Twitter and dispel this rumor. Whoever this Twitter individual is, is trying to put a wedge between Aggie Nation, the new Head Coach, and the Collective. It's probably time you guys put this fib to rest.BlueAAggie wrote: ↑April 20th, 2024, 6:17 pmDon’t want to get into specifics but this is not true. A verbal agreement was entered into last year with Ian and the final payment was scheduled to be paid in May of this year after portal closed. Legal council advised that contracts be specific to each payment to protect international players visa status. Due to this there were some frustrations and misunderstandings from Ian and his family, understandingly so. Ian and his family have been great to work with during this portal process and new coaching turnover. With new information and updated legal advice we are able to contract everything up front ahead of time. This has happened in this situation so Ian has everything up front in writing if he chooses to stay an Aggie. Ian has a lot of great options on the table and we really hope that playing in an Aggie uniform is the one he decides. Time will tell.bluegrouse wrote: ↑April 19th, 2024, 11:03 pmDon’t know who this guy is or if he is at all reliable but if this true, it’s a bad look and one we have to fix like yesterday. Can’t be not fulfilling promises. That will kill your whole program in a hurry (which makes me think there’s more to the story but perception is everything).
If anyone here knows Nick personally, please pass this suggestion on to him.

Man, you got to feel for these kids that got advice to wait to sign or back out of their already signed NLI with the coaching change. They decided to be wishy washy and now they don't have a spot.aggies22 wrote: ↑April 21st, 2024, 11:32 amHe never signed with us.bluegrouse wrote: ↑April 21st, 2024, 10:45 am

Haha I shared the past proof of being blatantly wrong because of the constant pounding your chest about always being right and “calling things” and acting as the board seer and arbiter of truth. Then also attacking those who disagree with you.
We’re all wrong here at some point.
Plenty of people on here know me in real life and the die hard Aggie that I am. I am more than happy to grab lunch with and connect with any other Aggies on the board anytime.

On the same day that Heard it First was created, we learned about the account from Roy. The biggest thing on the account was about the cost of Dallin Hall, and Roy went on Dallin Hall costing us too much.LarryTheAggie wrote: ↑April 21st, 2024, 12:28 pmI doubt it's Roy. The "pound my chest" thing was mocking people like yourself who pounded their chest 24/7 on this board with opinions that were 100% incorrect then claim to be a realist. I found it so silly that I added a spin on it. You have been always wanted to be considered to be an insider, so this burner account is realistically something that fits your behavior on this board.Roy McAvoy wrote: ↑April 21st, 2024, 12:30 pmHaha I shared the past proof of being blatantly wrong because of the constant pounding your chest about always being right and “calling things” and acting as the board seer and arbiter of truth. We’re all wrong here at some point.
Plenty of people on here know me in real life and the die hard Aggie that I am. I am more than happy to grab lunch with and connect with any other Aggies on the board anytime.
Although we’ve disagreed on things at times(as is the case on fan message boards lol), I have to say I find Roy to be very level headed and typically doesn’t say things without some kind of proof/receipts
Could be wrong as always but I’d wager it’s certainly not Roy.

Re: Current State of USU Basketball
It is someone who bounces around different message boards who wants to be considered to be an insider. After Roy got destroyed on this board by me and others about his bad projections from years ago, I would not rule out Roy. There were others, but I forget the names off the top of my head. It is someone that follows the fan boards who is angry.bigblue32 wrote: ↑April 21st, 2024, 12:42 pmIt’s not Roy.SLB wrote: ↑April 21st, 2024, 12:38 pmThe "pound my chest" thing was mocking people like yourself who pounded their chest 24/7 on this board with opinions that were 100% incorrect then claim to be a realist. Re: Current State of USU Basketball
I never posted and will never post anything negative about the Aggies.
The twitter account is about being an insider and being angry at the Aggies.

I never and have never considered myself as an insider. I mock fake insiders, and I have laughed and wonder who the heck this Heard it First person is.LarryTheAggie wrote: ↑April 21st, 2024, 12:51 pmProve it.
I like the Aggies too much to do that kind of garbage.

Even when slb had a Twitter account his discord was a more aggie positive vibe. Never seen him be out to put a negative spin on the Aggies. Have you?

LOL you actually thought he was serious all of those times? That’s OBVIOUSLY one of SLB’s famous parodies!Roy McAvoy wrote:Huh. It seems we have quite the juxtaposition between SLB and our new head coach. Which one are we to trust??
It seems our new head coach didn’t even deem Barnes worth a walk-on spot.

Right. And hearditfirst might just be your parody account where you mock insiders. It goes right along with your MO.SLB wrote: ↑April 21st, 2024, 12:54 pmI never and have never considered myself as an insider. Part of my account is a parody of Roy and some others for takes that are far worse than this.shoresy wrote: ↑April 21st, 2024, 12:55 pmLOL you actually thought he was serious all of those times? You keep perpetuating this mythical event all the time. Please provide a single piece of evidence referencing back to this time you and others “destroyed” me because of “bad projections”.SLB wrote: ↑April 21st, 2024, 12:49 pmIt is someone who bounces around different message boards who wants to be considered to be an insider. You used to go with "I was being a realist" then go on to the next thing with every bad projection. Me and some others mocked it.Roy McAvoy wrote: ↑April 21st, 2024, 1:00 pmYou keep perpetuating this mythical event all the time.
