On a positive note - I just ran into Karson Templin at the Dallas airport. We had a short conversation and I got to ask him a few things. He obviously didn’t divulge any crazy info to some guy fan girling in the airport but had some positive things to say to the few questions I asked.

I’m glad I saw him, because I got to tell him I think we’ve just barely scratched the surface on the player he can be and that I think he’s going to be very good for us. I know many have said that here, on X and on Instagram but I wanted to make sure he heard that. There’s always a lot of noise on social media and hopefully he has seen the positive sentiments, but I also hope the words of one fan will stick with him.
Did Templin make any hints about Martinez? If we get him back, then we will essentially have brought back four starters - Falslev, Johnson, Uduje and Martinez. Albury, Gatereste and Templin are already committed as well.

Regardless of all the openings that still need to be filled, we should feel good about going into next season with these seven.
Agreed. Martinez could carry a larger scoring load. We need him or Great back if we're going to repeat as MWC champions.

It's a little frustrating too. When I look at the updated list that 22 has posted there are only 5 guys coming back and it doesn't seem like enough positive news about guys coming in to offset the guys not coming back that we know or were looking forward to. I hope this changes soon. We need to stop with all of the negative waves...
I get the feeling we'll have at LEAST a pair of additions this week.
Any update on the Cal transfer that visited last week, and was then going to make a visit to SLU?
He's from Chicago, so I would imagine Saint Louis is REALLY high on his list.
Not to mention the Indiana state success and some of the guys going to slu will likely be appealing
Surprised that Avila is the only one from Indy St that has committed to SLU. One is staying put, one is going to Xavier and 2 are committed to Texas.
Avila has extreme loyalty.
I pointed out earlier that St. Louis can't compete on money in their region. The A10 plays where the Big 12, Big Ten, ACC, SEC, and Big East play.

I mentioned Ian and hoping he’d be back, and he did offer something along the lines of we should hear something from Ian soon. The way he said it gave me an impression of whether it would be a good or negative announcement, but that was 100% my interpretation of how he said it and not what he said. I don’t want to put any words in his mouth and give false hope or discouragement on here. I’m very tempted to say what my impression was but it was just that and that only.

This guy is also from UK and shares an agent with Great. Kentucky Twitter is pretty sure both will commit to UK. Playing on a U.K. to UK theme.so far they were right on this one.

Lighten up, Francis. This directly affects Osobor’s decision. Williams was his high school team mate in England and they are friends. Only reason I posted about it. Other than that couldn’t possiblyf care less about Kentucky.

My post wasn’t about Pope or BYU. Solely about how Williams might affect Osobor. Would have posted the same thing if somebody else was coach at Kentucky.

I was kinda expecting this dude and Great to announce at the same time. I am probably reading way too much into the fact that that didn’t happen.

I’m just ready for it to be done with either way.

Something to keep in mind is that Great and Amari play the same position, Amari is less of an offensive force but is a great defender and rebounder, exactly what fits well in Popes system.

Great doesn’t fit well in Popes system and I think this commitment is a good thing for our chances of a Great return.

That's a good point, but I don't trust any of these guys to not just go to the highest bidder. Great said he never wanted to do the portal thing again, and yet here he is, chasing the $$$. Not putting him down, or blaming him....just the way it is in the NIL world.

LOL you actually thought he was serious all of those times? That’s OBVIOUSLY one of SLB’s famous parodies!
Part of my account is a parody of Roy and some others for takes that are far worse than this.
Yes I know, that's what I'm telling people!!

You can tell if it's a prophecy or a parody by whether it turns out to be true or is one of the single dumbest things you've heard in your life!
Sometimes he speaks as SLB, sometimes he just speaks as a man.

@aggies22, could the return of Ian bring Great from EXTREMELY LOW to LOW or even MEDIUM ?? Or is the Ian return a non-factor??

Like someone said yesterday, someone needs to be the 11-13th guys on the bench. Need practice guys/walk ons that are good teammates and know their role. Which makes some of the guys being asked to leave odd to me.

What a roller coaster, but glad to see Martinez back to an extremely high chance of returning!

@aggies22, could the return of Ian bring Great from EXTREMELY LOW to LOW or even MEDIUM ?? Or is the Ian return a non-factor??
I don't believe it's much of a factor.
Is Jaxon Smith staying? Seems weird he made the cut.
He is a walkon. No need to send him packing because he is not taking someone else's spot.

No sense in telling a walk-on you don't need him. Plus he's a good enough shooter that he can provide good scout team play.

It seems our new head coach didn’t even deem Barnes worth a walk-on spot.

It is my understanding that SLB is the acronym for Supreme Logic Boss.
